Here was the response when asking if it is possible just to keep this one thread open for good.

The Response:

The way to keep the thread open longer is to have a thread with actual content rather than than one with 2 pages of content and 248 pages of empty posts.
Monster size threads hurt the speed and performance of our forums, so we're not going to increase the allowance for a thread that is, honestly, mostly wasted space.

She thinks our space is wasted

So far our new D-link router has been great. I know ODF and GWC was wondering about it. The cordless phones ringing has not kicked us offline yet with the D-link. The old one would kick us off the first milisecond that the phones rang. It does have a power booster that we have not had to turn on yet.

Since Kathy said this really isnt a game or contest, we have to make it one. Then maybe it will stay open longer.

That's why I prefer not to get the mods involved in any way, shape, or form (unless the close the thread at the appropriate time) . If we stay in our own little universe we're usually left alone.

I agree, just leave it alone and they will leave us alone. We've already lost our original thread , let's just move on

It is the same rules for this thread as it is for any thread. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.


Nothing we say will change it, a rule is a rule. They cannot bend the rules for one group of ppl or they would have to do it for all. Just my opinion of course.

Your right SC, the game threads close just as fast and sometimes faster then ours.

No .. not at all! Why would the original founder of the smilie thread think that?

I'm just saying they have a rule that all threads can only be so many pages and then they will be closed down. That this is their site and they make up the rules. This is what they decided will keep the boards running faster. None of us were happy with our first smilie thread being closed or any of the others that followed. But what can you do? We just start another and have fun with our smilie friends.

I use to get alot of smilies from funfiles and smilies, but I can't get that site anymore, not sure why I always
