I never thought that one of my kid's summer birthdays would make me sad. DS' b-day was today and although he had a blast at Chunky Cheese, he just was like, where's all the presents, friends, people? I felt so bad for him, it still makes me teary. So, if any of you have summer birthday babies, how do you handle it?

Keep in mind, our family is miles and miles, and miles away. Most gifts come in the mail.

Is he ok?

E's birthday is the first day of summer. Ever since E's 1st birthday we have invited a couple that we are friends with and they have a little boy a couple of months younger. From his 2nd birthday on he has had friends from church come. Plus my sister and BIL and their kids have come every year (they have 4 kids).

When he has his birthday party next year I plan on inviting his friends from church. Since we are moving there will not be the same ones as this year. I plan on getting some numbers from some of his friends from school to invite.

I think he went to bed disappointed. I let him have a sleep over w/ the other sibs. I feel like I let him down too, but dropping the ball and not being as proactive as I should've (while working). :guilty: I just wanted to hold him and cry for him.
