Smelly Frogg Toggs?

Hi We used the Frogg Toggs on our last summer trip to Disney and loved them. I went to use them last summer on a trip to Cooperstown and they had an awful smell. I followed the directions and washed them & stored them in the containers. I tried to re-wash them but they still seem to smell, plus the containers smell. I don't see any mold or anything. Is there anything I can wash them in to get the smell out? Is there a better way to store them for our next use or should I get new ones?

What kind of awful smell?
Like a skunky smell or more like
A still dirty smell?

If you think it is mold add bleach to the wash and soak before the regular cycle.
For general stink i would try one the following:
1) wash and add vinegar to the rinse cycle
2) try adding baking soda to the wash
3) for sweaty BO stink add dawn to the wash to cut the grease
4) air dry in a sunny location

Some of these may destroy your toggs... but if it is too stinky to wear then you don't have anything to lose.

We tried them on a wdw trip in 2013 and the following summer when I took it out the entire container was molded. I followed the directions too with washing it and storing it. I threw it out.

If it's not molded, I would try the vinegar wash. That's worked for me to get smells out of other stuff.

Thank you! I don't see any mold. It seems the container has a smell. I guess the plastic retained the smell from the clothes. I'm going to try washing again and not putting back in the container.

Distilled White Vinegar is also an option. Add it to your wash cycle like you would fabric softener. Vinegar has awesome uses for cleaning but is notable for removing odors.
