I was at 6 flags Hurricaine Harbor (water park) last week and saw someone on the lazy river texting with that life lock case on full in the water. I think it works pretty well and it does not look ugly or bulky....pretty pricy though.
I've been using my Lifeproof case for a few days now. It's pretty nice. You won't find a slimmer waterproof case, and it's something a can keep on full time while I'm at Disney. It's taking nice video and photos submerged (only tested in my house) and passed a 3 hour water test, staying completely dry inside.
Edit: For those looking at the Lifeproof, a few things I learned.
- "Waterproof" cases in the $40 range don't look very good. In fact, most have pretty bad reviews overall, or are difficult to use (either screws to deal with, super bulky, or a plate that needs to be removed to use the phone/camera which makes it non-waterproof).
- The Lifeproof can be bought for ~$50-$60, however the warranty is not valid unless purchased through an authorized reseller (you local laws may say differently). Authorized = $79.99. Essentially, LifeProof direct, Best Buy, or Target. I purchased from LifeProof. No tax and free shipping.
- The Lifeproof has a glass camera lens. It's not cheap plastic.
- And no, the warranty does not cover replacing the phone. Only the case.
- Always carefully check the rubber o-ring. Even a fine stand of hair will completely compromise the water-tight seal. This is true with any water-tight case. I can tell from many of the 1-star reviews that it was likely due to user-carelessness more than defective products.
So overall, $79.99 is expensive for a case. But comparatively to the cost of other iphone cases, and given the functionality and size, it's a pretty good buy.
