So my beloved old dumbphone died and I ended up replacing it with an iPhone. This was in large part due to my friend INSISTING I need it for our upcoming WDW trip in November. :lmao:

With instruction I was able to find the MDE app and get it on my phone today, but I saw a whole bunch of other apps about WDW. They don't seem to be from Disney. :confused3

Any particular apps you recommend or do most people just stick with the MDE?

Thanks. :)

Great thing about smart phones is there is ALOT of free apps. Your very safe to download any free app on an iPhone.

I would just download some and try them before you leave but I like:

WDW Lines (from TouringPlans so you need a subscription)
Disney Gift (great for tracking all your Disney gift cards)
LTDILDisney (Lots to Do In Line from Disney)
Packing Pro (this lets you make a list for packing for trips I have a list for me and my wife)
Memories HD (basically a little picture app from Disney)
WDW Waits
WDW Hours
WDW Maps
WDWMaps
Windows (Main Street Windows app which tells you about all the windows on main street)

Just to name a few haha

Last trip we used MDE and Disney World Magic Guide they both worked great but I think the DWMG was easier to navigate and had more information. You can find it in the app store.

I like MDE, but use TP's Lines much more. www.touringplans.com/disney-world-app. I also use link to Steve at www.wdwent.com and Deb's dining at www.allears.net/dining and Josh's at www.easywdw.com.

I also prefer an Android phone with replaceable battery. Battery use is high if using phone in the parks and I would not want to be tied to either a charging location nor carrying a charger with me. I just like to pop out one and pop another in and done.

Enjoy your new phone.

Don't forget to download the dis so you can post replies to the dis boards all day long.. .. lol

Haha, I will do this but I have a hard time seeing the writing on the phone. If I enlarge it enough I see very little of the sentence. I really just need glasses. :rolleyes1

I take it the Android is another brand and my phone doesn't have a replaceable battery? Too late now. :crazy2:

I love my iPhone 5 vs all the androids I have because of the battery. In the end your best option would be a external battery charging kit. Up to you but you can get them in about any size you want.

By the way I would avoid the DISboards app as it has a lot of connection issues it would seem as opposed to just surfing the net on DISboards.
