We are currently booked for a week's stay at the Fort over Easter Break, April 4th, 2015. Our children are considering pulling the grandchildren out of school for a week to save money AND, more importantly, avoid some of the crowds since it'll be the first time back in YEARS for our youngest daughter, age 31, and the first visit ever for her husband and children.

We are considering going two weeks AFTER Easter .....around April 17th. How are the crowds two or three weeks AFTER Easter? What's the weather like in late April? According to the reservation specialist I talked to today, spring break crowds begin in late February! I was surprised! What's your experience? :confused3

Thank you!

Go to Easywdw.com and read about the crowd levels during April. IMO if you go mid April you will be hitting the peak of spring break.

April 17, 2015 should be pretty good since Easter comes earlier next year. The middle of April this year is when the spring break crowds will be bad. IMO the weather is nice that time of year. Warm enough to swim but not sweltering hot. The Flower and Garden Festival is at that time too.

Fanatic,

Guessing crowd levels is sort of like reading tea leaves. I'm not that good at it but I can read the camp site rates at the Fort which are priced to reflect Supply and Demand.

This year, two weeks after Easter has the lowest rates of the spring season. Rates jack up around Valentines Day and stay that way for a while. The cheapest time all year long is maybe the last week of January and the 4 weeks between early September (after Labor Day) and through the first week of October. However, September can still be wet but I think late September into early October is a window I might shoot for in the future (after checking Bama's home schedule of course).

You were interested in spring so your planned time is the best but it's still relatively busy. But of the other spring break times, it's the least so.

PS I was at the Fort this past mid-April 2013 and it was great weather. Some nights slept with the windows unzipped on my popup. Needed the AC inside some days.

April 20, 2015 is Patriots Day and many schools in the New England states have spring break then.
I live in the Boston area and my wife is a teacher so I have gone that week a couple of times and the crowds aren't to bad as long as Patriots Day and Easter are more than a week a part.
You will here a lot of Boston accents around the parks that week.
This year (2014) will probably be pretty crowded as Patriots day is the day after Easter.

We always go the last week in April - 1st week in may. We'll be leaving Ma. on the 4/23 and arriving at the Fort on 4/25 this year .The weather is nice and warm (pool weather ) with no oppressive humidity and very very few showers. There's still crowds , but they're doable without a lot of frustration , and you won't bake while waiting . Although I am a bit concerned over these Magic bands and the fastpass+ system this time around. I'm hoping that a lot of the issues I'm reading about will cleared up by the time we get there.
