I own 150 points at SSR and am probably going to buy 150 points at AKL. I was wondering if instead I purchased 50 points each at BWV, BCV, AKL if I would have the reservation priority of 3 resorts instead of one. I know that only home resort points can be used at the 11 month window to book, will they allow you to use cash and then switch to points when you get to the 7 month window? I guess I am asking, does a 50 point contract (or so) make sense for additional home resort priority booking. If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it.

It can work well if you want to use banking and borrowing to 'cycle' through resorts every three years, For instance, year one you bank and borrow so you have 150 points to reserve at BWV, year two you bank and borrow to have 150 points to reserve at BCV, and year three you bank and borrow to have 150 points for AKV. Then the cycle repeats. Use your SSR points to fill in additonal nights or more vacations at SSR.

But it will take planning.

If you book with cash through MS and want to change to points at 7 months, you will need to cancel the cash reservation and go to the end of the line for the reservation. It's not a swap out of points for cash. If you book cash with CRO, there is no swap since the reservation is made out of different inventory.
