Small World

WDW small world does have a piñata of Donald in the Central American room. My family enjoys both parks for different reasons, many which have already been mentioned. The small world Christmas overlay is amazing, especially with the outdoor light. The mash up of “small world and jingle bells” is something that works in a strange way. The only problem with the outdoor loading in DL is the few times it rains. At WDW, small world is a safe haven from the rain!

My husband and I enjoyed some rides better at DLR but as a whole we love WDW--it's bigger, there's much more to do, etc. DLR is a great park we just prefer WDW as a whole.

We're not hooked on DLR. We won't choose DLR over WDW. So YMMV.

Similar to how we felt. I actually liked Disneyland park better than mk. But wdw as a whole there is just so much more to do. I love the resorts and the Disney bubble at wdw. California Adventure is an awesome park as well. But I prefer wdw as a vacation destination.

That being said I like small world better at Disneyland. I enjoy the outside part and the characters being added.

You are correct, they were added to the Disneyland version a few years ago to much debate, personally I like them, but a lot of people don't. I know there was one other park that did this, I believe it was Disneyland Paris, but Disney World has not for whatever reasons.
I'm pretty sure Tokyo has characters as well in their Small World, I don't remember them in Paris but it's been over twenty years since I visited that park. I remember seeing them when I watched Tim and Jenn Tracker's Tokyo vlogs.
