After nearly a year of refurbishment, Fantasyland boat ride "it's a small world" reopened Saturday, March 19 in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
The classic Fantasyland attraction closed during the spring of last year for this major refurbishment, and the aging attraction received a new sound system, paint, lighting, and new costumes for the dolls.
During the refurb, the flume for the boats in "it's a small world" was drained, and the Mary Blair styled loading area backdrop received a new color scheme which now matches Disneyland's façade with white, gold, and blue colors.
The backdrop also received a new feature: a smiling clock face with drumming toy soldiers that very closely match those which can be seen on Disneyland's "it's a small world" façade.
The "it's a small world" attraction has been popular at Disney parks around the world. Its message of world harmony and its catchy theme song "it's a small world" written by the Sherman brothers has become famous worldwide.
