BOY! :bounce:

Thumper's doing well....becoming a little piggy! :p I did notice something yesterday (aside from the obvious from my post! ). He'll only eat for me! I was doing a lot of spring cleaning and the kids were off of school. Jeana asked if she could feed him. She's watched me enough times, so I decided to let her try. He would not open his mouth one little bit for her. I came up and took over and he instantly started chowing down. :bounce: Guess theirs no going back now! :smooth:

Awww. You're his MOMMY!:)

That is cute. He only wants Mommy to feed him :)

LOL, that's cute.

And I'm totally ignoring Tony. :p

Colleen, I'm so glad that Thumper is doing so well. He definitely know his mommy is!! We want continued progress reports and pics, please!! Now, what are we going to do with Tony?! I think he has a sick obsession with rabbits and needs some serious professional help! :p

Just a heads up, you may want to get Thumper fixed, boy rabbits tend to "spray" to mark territory as they get older.

Yes, you are his Mommy, because he has imprinted on you. My guess is he will follow you around too.

I want to see baby bunny pictures!!!!:D

Ingredients

3 pounds rabbit meat, cleaned and cut into pieces
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 pound bacon, diced
1/2 cup finely chopped shallots
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 cup dry red wine
1 cup water
1 tablespoon chicken bouillon granules
1 tablespoon currant jelly
10 black peppercorns, crushed
1 bay leaf
1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
1/8 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
2 teaspoons lemon juice
3 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Directions
1 Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain on paper towelling and set aside. Sprinkle rabbit with salt and coat with 1/3 cup flour, shaking off excess. Brown rabbit in remaining bacon fat. Remove from skillet, along with all but 2 tablespoons of the fat, and reserve.
2 Saute shallots and garlic in skillet for about 4 minutes, until tender. Stir in wine, 1 cup water and bouillon. Heat to boiling, then stir in jelly, peppercorns, bay leaf, rosemary and thyme. Return rabbit and bacon to skillet. Heat to boiling, then reduce heat to low. Cover and let simmer about 1 1/2 hours or until rabbit is tender.
3 Remove bay leaf and discard. Place rabbit on a warm platter and keep warm while preparing gravy.
4 To Make Gravy: Stir lemon juice into skillet with cooking liquid. Combine 3 tablespoons water with 2 tablespoons flour and mix together; stir mixture into skillet over low heat. Finally, stir in thyme. Pour gravy over stew and serve, or pour into a gravy boat and serve on the sid

Tony, I hope you have dreams tonight of Thumper and his buddies cooking you in a big ol' pot!!!

This was taken the other night. You can see how big he's getting. No more laying down resting anymore...he's ALWAYS sitting up and as of the night before last, he is now bathing himself! :p He is also eating oatmeal flakes too. :bounce: There is one thing he does that I don't remember my pet rabbit doing (back before kids!)....he likes to lick us! :) He little tongue is so soft. Hasn't tried to nip anyone either (I MIGHT teach him how....and WHERE....to bite and take a little trip to Ohio to see Tony:earseek: ).

I can't believe how big Thumper has gotten Mommy Colleen !!!! He is sooooo adorable.
Figment BOPS Tony on the head

Ever since we have had Thumper, he has had first a weepy right eye, then is stayed closed. This is on the side he has always kept his head turned from. I thought his eye was injured and after it opened on it's own, it would be ok. Well, the weepiness has dried and the eye partially opened. I looked at it closely now and the eye is totally white... He's blind in that eye. :( After his neck got stronger, I had assumed he would hold his head straight. It still leans, although not to the extent, just a bit, to the left. I think he's holding his head that way so he can see better.

It doesn't change the way I feel about him. He is such a sweetie. But I do think now, I am 100% sure about his future. Looks like we have an "official" new member of the family! :bounce:

Congratulations!! :teeth:

I'm sorry about his eye. :(

I'm sorry to hear little Thumper has a blind eye but he'll be okay. I know his mommy will continue to take really good care of him.

Have you taken Thumper for a vet check yet?

after reading Tonys post I would agree to teach him to bite him!LOL

I thought you were about to say you went to look at his eye and it FELL OUT  I'm sure he'll learn to get along just fine in time though. He really IS getting big. I rember the first pics you posted it was like, "Where's the bunny??? Oh, there it is, that tiny little spec."
