We stayed at the POLY (my dh,dd4 and myself) for 6 nights just got back last night! The overall trip was great, good weather, no crowds and got alot done.I liked the room at the Poly (Figi 3rd floor with a view of the water and beach) but we prob wont stay there again. The service was not good and the CMs were a little rude....no biggie we had a great time. The food at the food court was good, Ohanas was GREAT.We even got last minute ADRs for kona,GF cafe and rose and crown.
We ate at le Cellier on our last night and it was really good (better then last few times there) and crystal palace breakfast was awsome. My dd4 did BBB (walk in,waited 2 minutes) We did the afternoon tea at GF like we do every trip and it was great as always, got the english breakfast tea to take home, was given extra scones and extra onion tarts. We ate at GF cafe one night,my dh got the burger with lobster and I got the steak w/parm fries...the fries were good but only ate 2 bites of the steak because it was awfull! The service was good so no biggie but I was shocked that the food there was not better.
We ate cosmic rays, taco place in MK,fish and chips in epcot, captain cooks, sunshine seasons and EOS for CS...Sunshine seasons was the best.I got cashew chicken w/ rice and veggie and strawberry shortcake for dessert.
My dd4 rode splash mountain about 10 times! The last time there was a boat of teen boys (i think a school trip) that RUINED the ride for everyone, they yelled and stood up (had to keep stopping the ride) if my kids EVER acted like that in public they would never leave the house again! The lines were not long at all.
We watched the fireworks every night from the poly...it was a great trip but we will be back at AKL next time in Dec when the whole family goes.It was nice to jump on the monorail but the poly was just not our cup of tea. Also we did not even take a stroller so my dd4 walked the whole trip with no problem. We went slow and did not overdo it!

Thanks for sharing. I hope to be going soon, with my dh and DD 5 1/2. So I am glad to see it worked out with your dd4. Did you have the ticket hoppers, or did you just visit one park at a time each day? We won't be having any sit down dinners or doing the BBB hair-make-up thing....do you know of any other ways my dd can still get to see the princesses? Did you see the show in front of the Castle? Do you recall the areas where you line-up to meet the princesses? Did you have many picture opportunities? Thanks for your help. We are trying to stick to a $2500 budget, so unfortunatedly not too many extras and with such short time, no sit down reservations either. Thanks for your input.

you can see the princesses in the park in toontown, we did see the show in front of the castle a few times. It should not be to hard to stick to a budget, is that with resort or after?
The worst thing about our room at the poly was the people in the room next door, they fought EVERY night! It sounded like they were slamming each other against the wall so I called the front desk a few times...I really did not care to hear about how they are getting a divorce, that he would not take his meds or that she slept around!! TMI! PSA: IF that was you, SHAME SHAME!(not you PP but on this board)

I believe they're moving the Princess greeting to nearer the front of the park when the Fantasyland expansion starts. You should be able to stick to that budget, and probably still eat one or two sit-down meals if you really want to. Also, most of the counter-service meals are quite large - DH & I can usually share one and be fine - so plan on splitting meals w/ your DH & getting your DD a kids meal. That will save you a lot of money on food. You can also order breakfast stuff & bottled water from Garden Grocer & have it delivered to your resort... based on your budget, I'm guessing you'll be staying at one of the All-Stars or Pop?

Thanks for the report!! We are looking at this time frame next year (April 9-16; Easter not until April 24). Worried about crowds, though. Glad to hear they were low this year.
