Small quantity of points question

We have used up most of our points for a recent Disney trip. I have ** points remaining which will expire end of *. Our next trip will be the cruise.

What to do?

Do most people let a small amount of points expire or should I try to transfer?

Unfortunately not. These were banked 2009 - expire end of May 2011

You can go on the rental board and make a reservation for someone. It really is easy. I finally did it myself for the first time this year. That is your only option. You can't transfer the points because they were banked.

Thanks but I know how to rent points. I've done that and I guess that is an option or transfer.
This was more of a general question because I'm talking about a VERY small amount of points. As in - less points than you have fingers on one hand.

Just curious what most people do with small quantities.

Since they are banked points they can not be transferred. Your options are to try to rent them as they are, combine them with next years points for a rental or allow them to expire.

You might have to let them expire, since you have so few. Seems like a waste when that happens!!!!!

Personally, I have a rule that if a certain amount of points are left that I can not use even after banking I let them expire. Unfortunatly I messed up royally late last year and didn't find out about it till I made the member cruise reservation. I had ***amount of points that were banked and were to expire in August 2011, I was shocked as I didn't know i had that many points banked. I found out I messed up keeping track with my multiple trips in the last 3 years to California & Florida. So I made a 4 day reservation in March 2011 at the Poly and will only lose 4 points. Now I am back on track.

You can also do a once-per-use-year buy of points from DVC for $15 per point. This way, maybe you can get enough points to get one night???!!!

Call member services they are very helpful. If they were already banked then they cannot be transferred
