Finally got the paperwork/member number for our BWV contract, and realized I have (5) points in holding from the previous owner that must be used by 1/7/17. I actually rented our November trip (which ended up being a smart choice since this closing took so long), so I have no trip scheduled in that time frame to use those points.

Is it worth selling (5) points? Maybe just ask $10/$11 per point to make it worth it for someone to look?

Probably more likely to find someone looking for a transfer. So long as you don't expect to need other transfers this year, you can probably find a taker. If not, it's only 5 points.

Ok...forgot about the transfer.

Are you sure about the use by date?
It is usually the end of your UY, which is the end of the month before your UY. What UY do you have?

Yeah, I called again and it expires upon my 2017 use year which is February. So those points will run out 1/31/17

5 points isn't enough to book a single night so unless you can add points to it that won't work. HHI has a 6 point requirement in Adventure season for a single night in a studio so it's close. And, the points would have to have been current points in order to transfer. They could not have been banked or borrowed.

There are lots of instances where people need just a few extra points to complete their reservation- I see posts like that all the time on the rent/trade board. So yes I would put out an offer for a transfer.

Except - they are in holding and may not be eligible for transfer. That ought to be verified.

Oh, you're right I didn't see they were holding points. That might not be worth the bother then dealing with them. I hate seeing points wasted though, sigh.

You can always add a couple OTU points to build a reservation. Granted it will bring the CPP up as you will be paying $15.

AFAIK, holding points can be transferred, but they would still be limited to booking something no more than 60 days away. Since availability is usually very limited at the 60 day mark, there probably are not very many members who could use them or want to go through the bother of acquiring them, hoping what they need will still be available when they are able to use them.

I'd either offer them for free or resign myself to just letting them go. I've assumed the OP placed no value on those points when she made the offer, anyway.
