small cooler suggestions
Here is my problem. One of my DD's only drinks juice boxes. Can anyone recommend a smallish lightweight cooler to bring to the parks that will keep them cold? I will not have a fridge in the room so I can't freeze them and the only thing I'll have access to is the ice from the machines in the hotel. I feel bad for her to have to drink them hot!

u have this question posted everywhere-don't you? i replied and i saw someone else reply (similar to my response).....i know you are trying to get this quesiton out.....good luck!!

I figure I would cover all my bases. Thanks so much for your ideas. I was doing some searching on the Target site and found a small carry lunch bag that has a hard bottom so I think ice wouldn't leak from it. Thanks again!!!

Deb-
i would still recommend bagging your ice....you don't want the melted ice (water) to spill or leak....besides, it will keep the boxes dry too....if you decide to not use the baggies, please at least take a couple along with you....i'd rather see you have them (if u need them) and not use them, than not have them and wish you did!! have a wonderful time!!!

Have you tried the small collaspable coolers? They work great, are small, and when they are empty can be folded up to put in your backpack.:sunny: We just have one we got at Walmart, real cheap............it would fit a sixpack or so.

I was at Walmart last night and they had several different kinds of soft coolers that you can carry like a bag can hold 12 cans of soda and there were some small kinds too. They were inexpensive as well. It is located in the Camping section of the store near the air beds.

I bought a soft one, it's like an insulated lunch bag style with a long carrying strap. It's small in size, it would probably fit six juice boxes and an ice pack. I got it at Target last year. It has a couple pockets in it to store dry snacks, our room keys, money, chapstick, etc. I just carry this instead of a separate backpack or fanny pack.

Last year we had a fridge, so we could freeze the juice boxes or the ice packs the night before. This year we won't have one, so I'm thinking of getting a bucket of ice and burrying the ice pack down into it and hopefully that will keep the pack frozen. I like the ziploc baggie idea for ice cubes too. I'll try that if my pack idea doesn't work!

I bought a really great Eddie Bauer cooler at Target (in the camping section). It holds about 9 cans and folds completely flat when not in use. I take it everywhere when we travel for all of my kids drinks.

You can request a free cup of ice from any eatery spot in every park. No need to bring any type of cooler.

I recommend using the ziploc freezer bags. They are stronger than regular food storage bags. I use them all the time with no problem. In fact, I also use them to pack my toiletries and such in my luggage.
