Small contracts, any experiences?

I'm thinking about adding on, but at a different resort other than what we currently have. It is the same use year, but a small contract - 50 points.

Anyone have any experiences with something similar?

I'm nervous about how difficult it will be to juggle points and the 11/7 month windows. I LOVE the resort, just worried about the small amount and how to plan out accordingly.

Shannon, we started out with 50 points at VWL, and just added on another small (50 points) resale contract there because 50 just wasn't enough. So, we found it hard to use "only" 50 points even with banking and borrowing.

We don't have children, and usually a studio is fine, but we do bring friends and extended family. I really don't want to buy any more, but I almost think that we're going to need 150 VWL eventually, once our DGKids and that family begin to join us.

Our smallest ownership is in OKW for 65 points. When we initially purchased, I wanted to use the banking and borrowing to stay in a GV for 5 nights in low season.

But I have developed a strong aversion to banking and borrowing! I know its nothing to be afraid of, but the "what ifs" have a hold on me. What if I borrow points and have to cancel? THose points cant be banked. What if I bank points and need them back? THose points cant be borrowed.

I know there are ways to work this out (I am a Disser! LOL) but none as good as virgin points. That's why I keep adding on (or so I tell Dh)

Im still relatively new, so maybe I will become more comfortable with my points as time goes on, but since purchasing, I like my points to stay in their current UY and banking windows. I just have bad dreams of me using 3 years of points for a OKW GV and everybody cancelling on me! The Horror!

I have several small contracts - 50 is okay for both BWV and OKW - you need 60 points for VWL and BCV.

the best use of a small contract is a studio for 5 days (sun-thurs) in adventure or choice season. January, Sept, Oct, most of Nov and Dec.

with the BWV it will 45 points standard view only!!!

if you can't travel in off season - or don't want too - look for a bigger contract.

We have a 50 point contract at BCV and the rest of our points at OKW which is the resort we use 90% of the time. We have the small contract for the 11 month window at BCV, we manage to stay there for a few days, usually in the winter season. We figured it would be a lot easier to get ressies at 11 months then try for the 7 month window at the BCV, if we don't use them at BCV we use them at OKW! Another point, if you ever decide to sell the contract, it is much easier to sell a small contract versus a large contract!
