Small Complaint/Warning About These Boards

1) Warning...be careful about signing up for shares. I signed up for a Photopass share and was so excited to be able to get some great Disney pictures on our trip next week. Now the person organizing the share has refunded my payment and cancelled the share...at the VERY LAST MINUTE. I am SO disappointed. Granted the money was refunded, but now it is way too late to sign up for any other share for this time . I learned my lesson...don't depend on strangers...even if they don't seem to be strangers because they have so many postings on these boards.

2) Complaint...why do people offer to send lists, spreadsheets, etc. and then ignore your request. I understand that it can get overwhelming when you get pages and pages of requests. Just an idea here...Perhaps if you have some such file that you are willing to share, you can upload the file to a free file hosting service like 4shared, rapidshare, mediafire, etc. That way, you can just point people to the file to download for themselves. Then everyone can get the file without it being overwhelming for the poster and there will be a lot fewer disappointed people.

I apparently miss the point of photopass sharing. I can see sharing with people you vacation with, but why do so with total strangers? You can get a CD for $99, right? Seems like a lot of hassle to me to save a very few bucks .

Your money was refunded so that is good. It's just a chance you take when you enter a share, I don't think it happens all the time. You're not leaving until next week so why not just pre order the cd for $99 yourself?

Why not send another request to whomever you're trying to get a list/spreadsheet from? Perhaps your email just got lost in the shuffle.

As for PMing people for things to be sent to you, well, be sure to check your junk/spam folder before venting about things not being sent to you. I hope you already checked there...

Yes! I can't explain how many reposts I get from people saying "I didn't get it" that it was just in their spam folder. No fault of theirs, but just trying to get the word out.

I'm the one sending out the onenote, and I hope it wasn't mine that got lost! I've really tried to get it to everyone and triple-checked my lists. If it was, I'm so so sorry.

I just did aphoto share and it worked great! cost me $20 and I got allthe pix I had taken. I plan to do it again especially with the same person she was awesome. If I can't get in on one I will pre order for $99 . The $124 is only if you wait till you are there!!

I'm sory about what happened to you but the best thing to do at this point is preorder the cd and then maybe the people that were in the share before still want to do it and you can still save money. Most likely the people involved in teh share would still want to do it since it would still save them money and they were going to do it already anyway. Maybe the original organizer had a god excuse not to do it anymore.

We exchanged all our phone numbers, hotel info, etc. in case soemthing happened and either of us needed to cancel. We showed up and the disser who arranged the cruise had cancelled it three days before and didn't even try to contact us. Still haven't heard from her.

I know what you mean about downloading extra stuff. These are all spreadsheets others have created - I'm just putting them all in one place. You really need to download each one and look at it, decide if it will be helpful to you and if not you can delete it. They are all safe - I have them on my computer and haven't had any problems with any of them. I got 2 more I'll put up later today.

I was also in a Fireworks cruise that got cancelled BUT we kept each other informed and it was Disney who changed the time on us and no one could go at that time. So again I had a GOOD experience with Dis arranged things.

I think what you have to remember when posting or joining this or any other forum is that, while I find the majority of folks here are way, way nicer than on other forums, this is still a public place (virtual, but still public) you are going to run into the occasional "not so nice" poster.
Hang in there, I've found the vast majority of disser are great.
