Our regional DECA conference was yesterday and me and my partner won 2nd place in our event! We are so excited! They didn't have our trophy last night, so hopefully we'll get it today or tomorrow during class. Now its off to states!

Thanks! I have something else that I would LOVE to brag about here, something even better than that, but I swore to secrecy. LOL. We totally thought we bombed the whole DECA thing, too, but when I was looking at the scores, I ended up getting the highest test score out of everybody in the event and our role play was really good too (that was the part we thought we totally bombed).

My son was at his first regional DECA conference last week and he and his partner came in first for Sports Marketing and now are off to State. I think I am more excited than he is

Thats great! Good luck to him! Hopefully we'll both make it to Internationals (which is in Orlando, BTW, and they are having DECA day in WDW!). My dad was very excited when I told him. We are going on a cruise 2 weeks before states. The first thing my mom said is "well, I guess we have to cancel our cruise. You can't miss that much school." I was like gee, thanks mom.

I laughed when I saw this thread. I was in DECA in H.S. and what's funny is a lot of people have no idea what it is. I won regionals in Job Interviewing - didn't do so well at state. DECA was an incredible experience. Congrats!
