Help! With all the rain we have had here in Massachusetts my garden has been invaded by slugs! Prior to this year I had never seen one, so I'm not sure where they came from (possibly plants bought at a nursery?)
Last night I sprinkled the little buggers with salt, but this morning there were twice as many!! I've read about egg shells, copper, and trapping. Does anyone here have any other ideas? What works the best?
Thanks!!

I know that having some slugs can be beneficial for your garden, but nothing is more maddening then to go out in the morning and see that they have been treating your plants like their own personal buffet table!!! What have they been munching on?
). I've also tried using wood ash (the same way as the eggshells), and putting down boards and hand picking them off in the morning. I've only had moderate success with these methods. No particular one seemed to work better than the other.
