hey everyone!

Haven't spent much time in the Disneyland section of this forum but I'm in the process of planning my very first trip to Disneyland (and the west coast)

I have learned the ways of the crowds down here in Florida with WDW but I'm wondering what is the slowest time to visit Disneyland? I know there's no such thing as "low crowds" but I definitely don't want to be there at peak times. I can go any time after mid April

Thanks guys!

Don't use your WDW ideas for crowd avoidance at DLR or you may end up disappointed. Check this out for more:

Agree with hydroguy. I tried the whole "go during the low season" logic and I regret it. Not only are the hours very short (like 10am-8pm short), but there are many rides down for refurbishement. There are less people in general, but because of the shorter hours and amount of rides closed in the off season, people aren't distributed well so there are still a lot of crowds. The locals still show up whenever they want in the evening hours as their passes aren't blocked, so that adds to the "off season" crowd significantly.

Currently, the off season is going on now, and this is what is going on.

we still like going during the slow times, but there are very few truly slow times. I'd rather have shorter lines for things that are running than long lines for everything.

Going during the "slow" times can work but I think it really depends on your expectations. Our first trip with the kids was in September and it was pretty quiet. The shorter hours and lack of night time entertainment were a non issue because our toddlers couldn't stay up late anyway. We appreciated the shorter wait times and didn't worry too much about what was closed.

Last time we went during spring break. We had a great time but will probably never do it again.

I was thinking.....
When Star Wars Land opens, it might lighten the crowd in DCA and some of DL...
Because they'll all be in SWL.

Oh. I thought it'd draw in non-Disney fans into the parks. Then they'll want to check out everything.

The summer months have become the slowest period as of late but its usually still crowded. Try around the end of June.

I don't think there is going to be any more 'slow times". disney is getting better and evening out the playing field. There are more and more people showing up during the slow seasons, and varying prices for the season is going to make it even more apparent.

We went at the end of June this Summer, and it wasn't very busy. Not as busy as I thought it would be. It was our first time and coming from multiple trips to WDW, I expected massive crowds.
