Pedicures are such a relaxing treat to give yourself once in a while, and they make your feet look so nice in the warm weather months. The last couple times I went for a pedicure I’ve seen more and more men each time. Last week, there were 6 women and 5 men - almost 50/50. My DH’s best friend gets pedicures and my DH keeps saying that he wants to get a pedicure. So, let’s talk about Pedicures……

Do you get pedicures?
Are you a man or woman?
If you get pedicures…..when do you get pedicures?
(multiple choice)

For Me….. i’ve gotten pedicures here and there in the past, but just recently I started getting no chip pedicures once a month (the no chip lasted that long and looked nice & shiny the entire time). I’m only getting my pedicures during the warm weather months. I don’t get any type of pedicures during cold weather months (I actually don’t paint my toenails all winter - I like to give them a breather from nail polish for awhile) My DD20 and I found a brand new place that we really like that’s worth every dollar. The last time I was there (last week) my pedicure lasted 45 minutes - I was very pleased with that. I normally am not one to spend that type of money on myself, but I decided to start treating myself to this once a month.

I don't get pedicures... it's the money. $50 plus tax and tip for me to have my toenails painted? Just can't do it. I've had them done once and it was OK, but generally I don't like strangers handling my body so I avoid this kind of thing. (I know, the touching thing sounds gross- but I totally DETEST massages, best way to make me tense up. I struggle with having my hair done. It's just a weirdness of mine, I guess).

Funny related story- DD loves massages, so one year I got her a gift certificate for a massage/mani-pedi. She had to stop them on the pedicure. She was a ballerina and her feet, of course, are her 'instruments.' The pedicurist wanted to file off DD's callouses! She has many, and they protect her feet during all the hours, daily, that she spent in pointe shoes! They thought it was the weirdest thing in the world, to have a client who DIDN'T want her callouses smoothed and her feet softened!

From about May thru October I get them regularly twice a month. Nov- April I get them every now & then. I have a standing appointment w/ my nail gal. It’s my one “me treat” and I enjoy it.

I have had a few done but I usually do my own - my feet need to keep their calluses otherwise I get huge blisters my feet are weird I accept that and when I get a pedicure they get rid of them and then I get bleeding blisters tmi so I do mine myself - because no amount of telling them don’t get rid of them - they still do and then I’m in pain for weeks
I just do it myself - learn that lesson the hard way with a trip to Disney after a pedicure not gonna make that mistake twice! 🤣🤣🤣 but I did enjoy getting someone else to paint my nails

I go every month for a basic pedicure. Love the massage that goes with it. It is $27 where I go and I have been going there for over 10 years. Stopped during Covid and haven't been since June because of a pinched nerve, but hope to go back next week.

DH started going with me about a year ago. His feet are so bad, he needs it. Mostly for the sanding down but he likes the massage too.

I have only had about 4 in my life and they were because friends said, "Let's go get a pedicure". I have never opted to get one on my own.

I get pedicures occasionally because I like the outcome and pretty toes. I really need to go again, especially now that we're living in Florida and I'm wearing sandals more.

But it is pure agony for me. I truly HATE anyone touching my feet.

I get them mostly before a big event or prior to going on vacation…usually about 4-6 times a year. It’s the only ‘self’ luxury I do (other than Publix fresh flowers for my house)…I don’t get manicures, color my hair, wear makeup or pay to have my hair cut…

Not a fan of people touching me, like a nice big bear hug and such from family and friends ok but randoms with sharp things that cut skin is wayyyy too much trust when the names never match what is on the wall so big no. Massages are also a no thank you.

I like this thing, I think I may have heard about it on here, trick is don't hover in one spot and do it slowly across days.

I paint my own toes

I got a few when I was in college, but haven't had a pedicure in ages at this point.

None for me. No nails for me ever. Unless you count my four year stylist doing hair and fingernails.

I do my own nails (hands and feet) and have a number of tools for keeping my feet callus free. DH’s feet would get pretty hideous though if he didn’t get regular pedis, which he has been doing now for years. Nothing fancy, just nail trim and shaping and the callus removal. It’s as much for my sake as his own. ;)

I did my own manicuring unless we were going on vacation and then the man would join me for professional mani-pedis; nice together time.

Now, it’s difficult to complete the task. My podiatrist elects to chop up my toenails in a medically sound manner that looks like dogs have been gnawing on them esthetically. My solution was to purchase an electric pedicure set via Amazon, do as many toes as possible and give the remaining three for my home attendant to do.

Guy here. Never got a pedicure until maybe 6 years ago, early/mid 70's. With getting older, and having back issues, Marie was always telling me to go for a pedicure when she'd see me doing my own, with me moaning about my back ha.

I finally took her up on her suggestion and went to a place and lady (Vera) whom my podiatrist recommended (foot issues also). I was amazed! Why did I wait so long!?!? Like my knee replacement 10 years ago, why did I wait so long? Fabulous!

I don't get any polish, including clear. Just a cut and whatever else she does. Vera is from Ukraine, about 20 years ago. She still has family there. So about 15 minutes if my 30=40 minute time is talking current news. Very interesting. I enjoy my time with her.

I go every 7-8 weeks. I did not go for 3 years of pandemic time. Don't how I managed with my old ways. It was so nice to get back some time last year.

Geeesh, spelling corrections
