We all worry. I don’t care who you are, what you do, we all worry, but we all worry at a different level. Some people are very chill, they worry a little and let the situation play out with very little thought about it (I envy these people - I wish I could do this). Then there’s others that literally lose sleep because their worrying is so intense (totally me sometimes). Today, we’re going to take a good look at how much we worry and rate our average worry level on a scale of 1-10. But first, let’s learn a little about worrying….

Excessive worrying is definitely something that can have bad effects on your life. What inspired this poll, is my DD22 having some changes in her life that is causing her a lot of worry, and this worrying is making her not sleep well and some other things. It’d be nice if we could turn worry on and off like a switch, but unfortunately it doesn’t work that way, so we need to do our best to acknowledge we have it and work with ourselves to try and manage it. While we are on the quest to manage our worry, let’s rate our average worry level. So tell us today……

What is your worry level?
1 = you’re a very slight worrier
10 = you’re a very severe worrier

For Me……On average I would rate my worry level to be a 6. There are times that I can be an 8 and there’s other times I can be a 2 or 3. It definitely depends on the situation. My DH is not as much as a worrier and is the one that I count on during a worriful (is that a word?) situation. I take a medication that helps my mind slow down at night, because worrying, even minimal worrying, will play on repeat all night and this medication helps with that.

Good advice for most of us ⬇️

I worry a lot less now that I'm older than I did when I was younger. In fact, when I was in my forties my mom gave me a book titled, "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" by Dale Carnegie. The bottom line of that advice book was that the majority of things you worry about never happen. :)

Depending on what the situation is I could go all the way to probably nine most of the time I’m probably hanging out around six maybe seven I also take medication at night to shut my brain up otherwise it is chatters all night long and I get no sleep at all And I have been that way for as long as I can remember
For a fact that worry will not do me one bit of good and it’s not gonna change the situation one single bit but it doesn’t stop me from doing it logic place no part in any of this🤣🤣🤣

I'd say I'm a 7.

I've always been a worrier - not constantly, but prone to bouts of it, and I've found myself worrying a lot lately - some stuff with my cat and some "stuff for another board".

I tend to do my worrying in the day time, though. Thankfully I usually sleep OK.

I think most of my life, until recently, I was a 10, more like a 100. I chose that, and then worried about it, haha, and did change it to 9. I worry daily about little and big things, but i have started letting a lot of little things go. Hope to keep that up more in the future.

I worry more than I used to. Too much time on my hands now, especially in the winter when I'm stuck inside. I need to get a good book to read!!
I think this is a big part of it. I’ve got a lot on my plate and I’m responsible for many things. As I get older, I’m finding it takes more and more of my mental capacity just to keep up with it all. I’m busy during the day and physically tired at night. I seldom “stew” (my DMom’s word for worry :goodvibes ) over things that aren’t real, pressing and right in front of me. I’ve got to leave all that in God’s keeping. I rate myself a 3.

I rated myself as a 7 on the worry scale. It mainly interferes with my sleep. I was up at 3 last night worrying and couldn’t fall back asleep. Things that mainly worry me are news events and anything with my family, especially my children (their worry is my worry). My husband is not like this at all and sometimes that bothers me as I’m trying to think of solutions. My Mom was also not like this and I definitely get my worry-nature from my Dad who worries about every potential worst case outcome to any situation. I tend to worry about what’s at hand at the moment.

I'd consider myself very high on the scale. Living with anxiety and the things that go with it will cause me to pretty much worry about things that I've created as potential issues in my mind. I don't need real issues. I can make up a problem with little trouble at all. My therapist calls me 'Mr. Whatif'. I guess I've earned that title. :)

I said 8 but probably a 10

Lost a lot of sleep, mostly about my kids. We are getting older and I worry about how they will do without us. Just the other day I asked him how my 25 year old daughter would store her winter tires . They are in our garage she lives in an apartment. Would she even know she needs new tires? My husband just says she will have to figure it out.

Worse yet I worry about things I did in the day but can’t go back and change it.

I used to not be a big worrier, but my worrying has increased as I’ve gotten older. I basically worry the most about my husband. I have prayed and hope to pass before he does, but I still worry he will go before me. I even worry about what I would do if he were to pass while we are on a vacation out of state. Not so much that I refuse to travel but it’s always in the back of my mind. And I worry about how to deal with our farm (the land, the planting and harvesting, the marketing of the commodities, etc.), tax season, etc. We have amazing adult children and grandchildren so I know they would do all they could to help me, and I know I can’t control what happens, but I still worry. I hate that I do that.

When I was working full time and had young kids, I didn’t have time to worry.
As I get older and have more time for myself, the more I worry. I’m probably a 10 on the scale most days.
I was the absolute opposite. Much less concerned about things now(at 62) then when I had young kids, working, running around. I feel much more in control of my own destiny so less to worry about.

That’s amazing! :goodvibes

I thought that when I retired from my very stressful career, (which was always the bulk of my worry) all my troubles would float away. Instead, all these brand new worries plague me.
