Frozen. I’ve seen Tangled once and keep hearing how great it is but don’t remember it being a stand out. Maybe I’ll have to try watching it again

It's not even close.
Frozen all the way!
Better songs, better characters, better quotes.

Don't get me wrong I like Tangled to an extent but I find it hard to sit through the full movie without getting bored where as Frozen keeps my attention the endtire time.

Frozen for sure. It really resonated with me at the time because my sister and I had lost our parents recently and were negotiating a new normal without them. I am more of an Elsa type, trying to be the strong one and covering up my feelings so everyone else thinks I’m okay and my sister is more the Anna type, more carefree and impulsive. It was a long time before I could listen to Do You Want To Build A Snowman without shedding a few tears. The fact that it was a sister relationship story instead of a romance is what really appealed to me. I also liked the idea of keeping the audience guessing who the villain really was until the end of the movie. First you think it’s going to be the weasel from Weselton, then you think it might be Elsa, and occasionally the trolls even feel ominous. Then it turns out to be the one person most people least suspected. I also loved the soundtrack, especially the instrumental music (although there is something cathartic about belting out Let It Go when you’re frustrated).

I like Tangled. I like the songs and the story, but to be honest, it feels so similar to a dozen other Disney movies to me. Frozen, with its hidden villains and family drama, felt different and still does.

I have seen both movies and chose Tangled only because I seriously dislike Frozen. I don't really know why I dislike it so much except maybe it was/is way to overhyped and I'm still (and always will be) salty about them changing the ride in the Norway pavilion from something that actually depicted the country to something based on a movie that is not only fictional but is not even set in Norway.

Now if my poll was Tangled vs Frozen II, it would be Frozen II, which is one of my top 5 Disney animated movies. I like Frozen a lot, but I don’t love it like I love Tangled.
I thought I was the only one who felt this way!!!

I think Tangled is the better movie and I never understood why Frozen blew up the way it did. I don’t think Disney had any inkling that it would be nearly as popular as it ended up, which would explain the low key advertising and lack of sufficient merchandise. To be honest, aside from some of the songs, the movie as a whole feels rather phoned in and you can tell that they made quite a few last minute changes. But whatever, if it resonates with people then I guess that’s all that matters.

It's all about Let It Go - it's just such a tour-de-force! Honestly, I find the other songs in Frozen lacking, but Let It Go is tremendous. They released the single early, and smartly so. If Frozen doesn't have that song, it performs averagely at best.

I feel that Tangled overall has the better soundtrack - thanks to Alan Menkin - but it doesn't have that one stand-out that is as good as Let It Go. It has a better story than Frozen. Heck, I think that Frozen II has a better story than Frozen as well, though the music is a bit more hit and miss, and it still doesn't have a single track as strong as Let It Go.

Frozen for me. This seemed to be the film we (me and my friends) all got into when it was released, whereas Tangled just didn't seem to do as well. Shamefully I've probably only seen it once or twice.

I love Tangled, I'd watch it any day over Frozen.

Also, I highly recommend the "unnecessary censorship" video of Tangled, it's hilarious.

I've seen neither, probably won't see them.
:duck:

Sandy, is that lantern sitting on a post of some sort, or anchored somehow? Great picture!
Thanks Dan!! :goodvibes
The lantern is plastic box made to look like a lantern. It's very light and we were holding it. The line to get this picture taken gets real long, so I was very glad that we got there early and only had a few people ahead of us.

Thanks for posting this - I'll definitely have to watch this.

My daughter was crazy for Frozen. I must have seen a bajillion times. I still really enjoy Frozen, but I can sit and rewatch Tangled any time, any place. I loooove the lantern scene. I try to hold my daughter's hands and sing to her, but she won't allow it anymore :rolleyes2

I'm glad to check back in today, to see Tangled in the lead :-). I love Tangled, I don't care for Frozen. I have watched Tangled dozens of times, and Frozen twice. Once in the theater, and then once at home a couple of years later to see if we felt differently about it. We didn't LOL.

I’m with a few others here who just didn’t get the hype of Frozen. The songs didn’t seem follow the same style throughout. And the storyline was disjointed. I like certain individual songs in Frozen, but overall, it just didn’t appeal to me at all. Love Tangled. I sing, “Mother Knows Best,” to my children all the time. 😁
