I've had them once or twice over the last 20 years, certainly not something I go out of my way to buy! Usually when someone brought them to a gathering. The only baking I do these days is around Christmas.

They just seem like a small piece of frosted cake on a stick. Not sure why that is appealing. Reminds me somewhat of petit fours you might see served at a wedding or bridal shower. Frosting is usually much sweeter than a normal cake.

Not only have I never had cake pops, but I have no interest in trying them. I am not a huge "sweets" person and honestly, they sound a bit gross. Of course, I could be completely off-base here, and the last thing I need to do is try something like this and LOVE it!

@lovesmurfs The Angry Birds cake is FANTASTIC!!

Never had them and probably never will. They seem sort of dense and have too much frosting for me. I also don't like cupcakes for the same reason. I will eat a piece of cake every now and again but more often then not when I do I scrap the frosting off (unless it's German Choc. with the coconut frosting all over, then I'll eat mostly frosting).

I’ve liked any of the ones that I have tried. I have made them on a few occasions. My dd also makes them sometimes. Ours never come out as pretty as the cake pops that I’ve seen online though.

I’ve had them a few times at parties and liked them but it’s probably not something I would seek out. My daughter and I have tried to make them a couple of times with varying degrees of success. I think I make mine too soft somehow

Food on a stick--Isn't it just a problem waiting to happen??? I don't get the appeal, other than the visual.
Everyone knows that everything tastes better on a stick! I like real ones (cake deconstructed and rolled into balls) than those cooked in pans.

I've had them once or twice at a baby shower or something, but yeah it's more of a grandkid thing around here.

Slo, care to share any of your DD recipes?
I don’t know any of them - I’ll try and remember to ask her 🙂

I've never had one and I don't really care if I ever do.
Not anti cake pop so if someone handed me one or said oh you have to try this one from this place I'd probably try it but overall I won't go out of my way to find one and buy it.

I like cake pops. I've never tried to make them and have only had them at Baby Shower type events. They are always so cute.

I have had them a few times at events and the ones I had were good.

The ones I have had were on the dry side, so not my favorite snack. I would rather have a high quality cupcake instead.

They’ve been popular for about 15 years, Starbucks sells them.
I’ll take your word for it, but I don’t drink coffee and don’t frequent Starbucks (have only been there twice ever). Guess I think of them mainly as a treat for kids, and I haven’t had young kids in my life for a long time.

While I love cake, I've never actually had a cake pop. They do look aesthetically appealing, I'll give them that, but to me they seem overpriced for what's basically two bites. I'd rather just have a real piece of cake.

My kids get them from Starbucks occasionally and I had a bite once. It was tasty but crazy expensive. I limit sugar and part of that is only eating sweet things I absolutely love and even those very occasionally. Cake pops don’t make the cut.
