Are the windows on your car tinted?
Did you buy it that way, get it done or do it yourself? (m.c.)

For Me…..My back windows are tinted, but my front windows are not (2022 Toyota Sienna) and the car was made this way. DH would like to get the front windows tinted, but I don’t, so we’re leaving the car as is.

*Inspiration for today’s poll is my DH getting the windows retinted on DD18’s car today.

My back windows are slightly tinted. The car (which I bought used) came that way, and I would not have added it if it hadn't. In fact, one of the deciding factors between this car and the "runner up" was that the other car's windows were too dark. I see best with bright light.

My back ones are factory tinted. I had my front ones done but they aren’t very dark (legal limit for my state)

My back were factory-tinted, but I wish the front were too. We have too many tint laws for it to be worth the hassle of doing it. I live in an insane state so I will continue to burn as I drive.

I got a new Mazda almost a year ago; I had to buy a model that was on the lot due to supply issues. It was a “sport” model and the window are all tinted to the maximum legal limit (it’s a misdemeanour to have them so dark the driver isn’t viewable from outside). I don’t love it, especially the back window because it’s customary here to wave a little “thank you” to courteous drivers while in traffic and now nobody can see me do it. They probably think I’m a jerk. :(

Whatever it came with from the factory (I think just back windows).

The car my younger son got last fall has (I believe) illegal tinted windows (too dark) and I've been on his case for months to remove it, but he still hasn't. :headache:

I did have windows tinted, when I got my new car in 2013. Then several years after that ,then Governor , made all repair shops that do state inspections fail any car with tints. It was always a law but never enforced. In NY no amount of tint is legal. So when my son started to drive I took tints off. Didn't want him to get pulled over.

A lot of “fix it” tickets are given out around here for tinted front window. I think I’ll pass on getting my windows tinted.

I have whatever the car came with. When I bought the car, I was doing a lot of my commuting before sunrise and after sunset, and a darker tint made it more difficult to see, so I didn’t opt for anything darker.

My dad used to always add tint to his cars and would try to talk me into getting darker tint, but I didn’t.

I'd like some tinting, for sun protection, since the sun is so brutal here.

Typically only the windshield is protected against UVA rays, the rest of the windows only protect against UVB rays. So no need for windshield tinting. (UVA - Skin Aging, UVB- Skin Burning)

And speaking of UV rays, check out this photo of a truck driver who had 28 years of chronic UV exposure.

Just what the car came with. It’s illegal here to have windshield and/or front windows tinted above a low percentage, so you never see it done.

Factory tint on all glass from the driver's seat back on my Flex. Anything other than a very light tint is illegal in many states for the front door windows and windshield. Some companies will tint those windows, then the driver gets a ticket and has to pay to have it removed.
I haven't seen very many aftermarket tint jobs that I found to be satisfactory.
