There are so many beautiful ornaments - I love looking at them all. Many of us have a favorite, and normally there’s a story why that ornament is a favorite. With it getting close to Christmas I ask…..

Do you have a favorite ornament?
If yes….is it new, old, homemade, store bought, from vacation or family heirloom?
(multiple choice)

*Please post a picture if you can - we’d all love to see your favorite ornament

For Me…..I have a lot of ornaments that I love, but my most favorite is an ornament my mom made over 50 years ago. I have always loved this ornament and when I got married I asked her if I can have that ornament, so she happily gave it to me. It now hangs front and center on my family room tree and my mom loves seeing it there. I love this ornament more every year ❤️💚 I voted that it’s homemade, old and a family heirloom (my DD20 will continue to hang it one day on her tree)

I don’t have a favorite one.

Your favorite one is very nice, slo, and has a wonderful history, and future!

I love most of my ornaments. Been collecting for years.

I have a lot of Disney and a lot of Hallmark.
I love my Mother/Daughter ornaments that I still buy 2 of every year, one for each of us.
And my Granddaughter and Grandson ornaments that I have been getting since they were each born.
A lot of DIS ones from when we had the exchanges.

I think my favorite is a clip on. A red poinsettia with a sleeping baby rabbit on it.
Oh then there is a jolly Santa with a clear belly full of cookies....so cute.
I could go on and on

My favorite ornament is my drum that I made in 1st grade from a Pringles can and a straw. I would always put that front and center on the tree. As my sisters and I grew into adults and were in charge of putting up my parent's tree, I would still put it front and center. My sisters would move it to the back but I noticed it the next time I was over their house and move it right back to where I put it. That ornament is 48 years old!

I have so many that trigger special memories when I get them out of the box. Last year I didn’t put my tree up, so this year it was like discovering all over again.

I have several made by a dear neighbor many years ago. She was so talented. Also some made by my son that are precious. And also some I painted myself many years ago. So most of my favorites are handmade.

I made several ornaments when I was an at-home mom. They are hand-sewed and include embroidery, crewelwork, sequins, felt, etc, but not all on the same ornament. My favorite is a set from Wizard of Oz - Dorothy, Tin Man, Lion and Scarecrow. I always put them in the most prominent places on the tree. :) I also have handmade ornaments from just about every female relative. :)

I have many special ornaments, some that I’ve hung every year since childhood. It’s hard to pick a favorite but I’d have to say one that my dad made, it’s a tiny model of the house in which we grew up. Very detailed with the front and back porches, etc.

My favourite isn’t a tree ornament. It’s a sweet little nativity set my DS made out of wood blocks in kindergarten. It’s truly one of my most treasured possessions. Made even more tender this year as his kindergarten teacher, who had remained a very dear, if distant, part of our lives over the years, passed away this summer. :littleangel: I can practically see her leaning over those little ones she loved so well and helping them fashion the project.

Excuse the setting; our household is in chaos from a renovation now so this year it’s just stuck in a little cranny amongst the mess:

I do have a favorite ornament, but "it's pretty" is really the only reason. While I have a lot of travel related ornaments that I love, ornaments made by my mom that will always be special, and some Disney ornaments depicting favorite characters...I went through a phase where I was all about collecting Lenox ornaments. I pulled back from the obsession because 1. the tree fell one year and a number of them were destroyed or damaged 2. I got so many that safe storage became impossible 3. I never trusted anyone else to handle them until recently 4. Most are really heavy.

At the beginning of my obsession, I saw one online that I loved but I couldn't justify the price. There was just something about it. The following season, that ornament and a bunch of its friends showed up at Marshalls and TJ Maxx for about 50% off. That became my green light into collecting. I don't necessarily think of it as old, but it occurred to me that I've had it for 20 years...so, it's "older." Although, most ebay sellers do refer to it as vintage. I'm always so happy when I get to it in the bin and get to put it up on the tree. It's one that does get a little extra care when I pack up at the end of the season.

I can't pick out one as a favorite! I'm an ornament junkie and have a few hundred of them and literally can go a few years between seeing some of them. The most sentimental ornament which is hung every year is a simple Hallmark clear plastic teardrop that says First Christmas together 1986. We weren't married yet, but we were living together. We had bought a real 5 foot Charlie Brown tree which everyone laughed at, but I adored!

My favorite (a gingerbread Cinderella's Castle) is from when I took the kids to Disney World in 2006. DH and I had planned to go altogether, but he got deployed before Christmas. We decided I should still take the kids -- a chance for us to bond early in his deployment.

I kept seeing them everywhere, but didn't decide to buy it until our last day. And do you think I could find one ANYWHERE? We wound up at four different parks--finally found it in Animal Kingdom of all places. Every time I take it out, the kids remember the escapades we did to find it.
