I love ravioli. I don’t eat it often but when I do I adore it, and will happily have it with whatever filling I can get.
I do that with the canned ones, usually Mozzarella though, soo yummy and gooey! Now, I did used to melt some american cheese over them, but in a bowl. It was big, cheesey mess!
Me too, Kitty! I’ve never ordered it in a restaurant or made it myselfI eat ravioli occasionally and yes it's from the can.![]()
I do that too!Sure, I like it, but I don't eat it much. I also like Chef Boyardee - I like to sort of pull them apart and scrape out the insides.
Haven’t eaten Chef Boy R Dee in years and years and years but have very fond memories.Mmmm……I love me a big ol plate of ravioli. I made this for dinner last night, so the thought of ravioli is still on my mind. I’m sure everyone knows what ravioli are, but did you know they can be stuffed with so many good things? I never really thought of it - meat and cheese is pretty much all I think of. So, let’s find out today what type of ravioli we all like. Give us your yummy pasta filled answer today……
Do you eat ravioli?
If yes….what type do you enjoy?
(multiple choice)
*If anyone has a good ravioli recipe and would like to share it, please do. It can be a recipe for the actual ravioli or a recipe that uses frozen/premade ravioli.
For Me……I don’t order ravioli in a restaurant very often, because if I’m at an Italian restaurant I’m getting something I don’t make at home. At home, my recipe isn’t anything fancy - I put sauce at the bottom of a 9x13, put a layer of frozen ravioli & mozz cheese and repeat the layers of sauce, ravioli and cheese - very easy. I only use cheese ravioli. The only time I eat meat ravioli is when Chef Boyardee makes it (yes, I eat ravioli in a can - it’s a nice, fast & easy meal that takes me back to my childhood. I don’t eat it a lot, maybe 6 cans a year) If I were at a restaurant and saw they had spinach & cheese ravioli, I’d order that. I also enjoy toasted ravioli as an appetizer.

I like ravioli, and only have them a few times a year. Coincidentally I made some last night too. I tend to buy the large, round cheese filled ones. Over the years at restaurants I have had some of the fall ones and enjoyed them. I have never tried any canned ones, but keep saying one of these days I will break down and try canned pasta. Though several relatives may turn over in their graves if I do!
Appropriately branded, Perfect Pasta. Marie said to tell you the secret is that the dough part is very light and airy. And it is very light, like her mom's.@Dan Murphy So what brand of ravioli does Marie buy??
One of the reasons I don’t eat canned ravioli anymore is because, just like in the photo, it’s in a swimming pool’s amount of sauce.Try not to think of it as "pasta", you'll be happier that way. It's really not anything like what you know as actual pasta but it is a serviceable thing unto itself. It makes a decent enough work lunch or evening fill-up if you're on your own and don't want to cook.
