I have an account and I visit it occasionly to check out recipes and decorating ideas. When we were building my she shed in the back yard I looked at Pinterest much more often.

I have Pinterest, but I don't use it often. However, it is very handy when I need some inspiration for a crafty type of project.

I guess I don’t even understand Pinterest. I thought it was basically just a site where DIY’ers post pictures of their food, decor and craft inspirations.

The few times I have tried to use it thought the same thing. The formatting seemed different from every other online site I have used. I would click on something and it would zoom off to some other unrelated page. No interest in trying to figure it out when so many other sites exist that are far easier to navigate and locate what I am looking for.

I do use it to collect recipes, and I have a private vacation board, haircut board, gifts, etc. I don't think too much about it, and my office doesn't allow access to Pinterest on our computers. So active, but seldom use.

No, I do not have an account. I'm not sure how it works, seems overwhelming. I come across it often when I'm doing an image search on Google. Can anyone give me the Pinterest for Dummies basics, lol?

Not a genius at it, but basically, you create different "boards" (think like bulletin board) for stuff you find on the Internet. If you see a recipe you like, you can add it to a "Salad" board by clicking the Pinterest button -- it saves the link to the applicable board.

Not particularly private, unless you set it to be so. And Pinterest will then make some suggestions about other people's "boards" that are similar.

I've created boards for haircut styles I've liked, Main Dishes, Dollar Bill Origami (for DMIL's Christmas gift), Salads, Soups, Grilling, etc.

It basically just bookmarks links by category.

Love Pinterest! I have boards for all kinds of interests. It's like a filing system for internet sources for all kinds of ideas. I'm not on it every single day, but it's one of my favorite "me" activities when I have a few minutes to kill.
