In the US, 9/15 - 10/15/24 is National Hispanic Heritage Month to recognize the achievements and contributions of Hispanic American people who have inspired others to achieve success. Many of us, regardless what country we live in, have Hispanic heritage in us. Tell us about you……

Do you have any Hispanic heritage in you?
If yes….how much?
(multiple choice)

*Happy Hispanic Heritage Month to all those who celebrate 🎉

For Me…..There’s no Hispanic heritage in my blood line - I’m 50% Swedish and 50% Hungarian.

I do not have any Hispanic heritage myself, I (as of the last Ancestry.com update) England & Northwestern Europe, Scotland, Ireland, Norway, and Germanic Europe.

I also have no Hispanic heritage, but the family of one of my grad student TAs is Guatemalan; he's first generation. As he describes himself, he is a proud Hispanic man who is getting his PhD in chemistry to show other brown kids, like himself, that there IS a place for them in the sciences.

Spanish here !!! My grandmother and her family came from Spain my mother was first generation in this country!! Her brother looks 100% Spanish my mother not so much - I look like my mother but I tan really well and very easily!! Sadly speaking Spanish was not passed done as my grandmother died shortly after giving birth to my mother and my grandfather is not Spanish - no Spanish traditions were followed as he remarried and it was not a person with any Spanish heritage and sadly my mother didn’t find out that was her step mother until she was an adult with her own kids - not sure how you couldn’t figure something was weird since her brother looked so Spanish 😳🤷‍♀️

No Hispanic heritage here. Growing up, I always was told about 2/3's Irish, 1/3 German. Ancestry DNA claims about 1/3 Irish, 1/4 Scotch, 1/4 Swede/Dane, the rest mostly German. Basically a European mutt.

Yes, from my point of view, if a person born here is an American then to me then yes. One of my grandparent's families moved from Europe to Argentina in the 1800's and Grandpa was born there before moving to the US to settle and become a surgeon which was a massive accomplishment for a poor ESL immigrant during the Depression. He had to be naturalized from Argentina so he was Argentinian, apparently it is a giant melting pot. One of his sisters was born in Rio so she was Brazilian.

No heritage that I know of, but I’ve never taken a DNA test. I would like to one day, but want to respect my mother’s desires while she is alive, as she was adopted and does not want to be in touch with her birth father’s family. So we wait and wonder 😉

None in my bloodline, although oddly enough I have had one greatgrandfather born in Peru & two grandparents who died in Peru, but none were hispanic!
One of our two daughter in laws is Honduran and was born there, so we've really been enjoying getting to know her family and some of their customs. And the food - damn that girl CAN COOK :cool1:

None for me either. I look at my heritage in quads according to what came from each grandparent. One grandparents was a blend of English/Irish/Scottish, another German, another Austrian, and the last is descended from people that fled from persecution in Belarus. That being said, I have many friends and colleagues that are of Hispanic heritage.

None for me, just western European stuff.

I have no Hispanic heritage, but my son-in-law is Hispanic. His family helped build the city we live in.

Nope. One of my sisters did Ancestry DNA - first it came back 93% Irish and 7% northern European (Viking?); then they revised it to 100% Irish.

No Hispanic heritage here. 100% Irish. My grandparents were Irish immigrants and met after being processed through Ellis Island.

None here. I am divided into quarters. One quarter Lithuanian, one quarter Italian, one quarter German, and one quarter Irish. As far as I know. I'm probably like Heinz-57 Varieties.
