slo’s THURSDAY 7/11 poll - Slurpee/Slushie/Icee

Today is 7/11, which means it’s free Slurpee Day at 7-Eleven. For those that don’t know….7-Eleven is a convenience store, that I was surprised to see, is in 20 countries. They are known for their Slurpees, which is a sugary frozen ice drink. Not everyone has a 7-Eleven by them to get a Slurpee, but most of us can get a Slurpee type drink (also known as a slushie or Icee) elsewhere like McDonalds or gas stations. What I’m wondering today…..

What is your opinion of Slurpees/Slushies/Icees?

For Me…….I love love love slushies . I don’t have a 7-Eleven close to me, so I buy mine at the local gas station. My DH surprised me with one last month. I’m not drinking them as much as I used to since it is full of calories. When my DD20 was still in travel ball, we’d be drinking them every weekend in the summer. They are the best on a hot day.

Love my Coke slushie !!! Have not had one in a while if I’m at a place that offers slushie drinks I always get one !!!

I like them, but it has been several years since I have had one. I remember the Slush Puppie machine and I would get that all the time when I was a kid. I also remember getting something similar from Dairy Queen and Sonic.

I think my favorite was the Mtn Dew slushies they had at the gas station. I would always get the biggest one available.

We don't have 7-11 here anymore, so no free Slurpee fo rme. We did used to get them as kids - always a treat. These days, I will very ocassionally get one at the movie theater.

We don't have 7/11 here. (There used to be one near the college campus, but I don't think it's there anymore... I just looked up my zip code on the 7/11 website... and it doesn't show any 7/11s anywhere near me. However, it shows a bunch of Speedway gas stations. I did not know that Speedway was owned by the same company. I don't know if they participate in the Slurpee thing.)

I think Slurpee/Slushies are just OK. My husband is a big fan though, so he will sometimes get one if we're somewhere that has them... and I'll take a sip. I don't dislike them, but it would not be my first choice as a frozen treat. We haven't had one in a long time... definitely not this year.

I love a grape slushie, it's more nostalgia than anything probably. Haven't had one in at least 10 years. Mine came from DQ. I'm not as much a fan of the icees from 7-11.

Good memories of church camp and preschoolers who loved blue Otter Pops. When I wad much younger, I enjoyed blue raspberry icees. Keep cool friends and enjoy a treat

I like them, but we don't have a 7-11 by us anymore and unless there is a sugar free option, I wouldn't do one anyway. I haven't had one in years.

I can make my version at home. I like strawberries and ice and crush it. Very good.

I don’t care for them but my husband is addicted to them…lol Even bought the huge containers they used to have. He only gets the Coke one, the kids will mix theirs.

We don’t have many 7-11 here anymore but Circle K sells the slushy.

About the only time we get an ICEE is when we pass a Buc-ee's while traveling. We have gotten a couple this year. We do like them!

Haven’t had one in a long time. I always thought they were ok. I liked them more as a kid. They would be so cold on my teeth! The last time I had something like this was a frozen coke from Hersheypark on a really hot day. That was enjoyable.

Couldn't remember the last time I've had one - maybe in high school? I don't have anything against them - it's just not a go-to drink of choice for me.

I haven't had a Slushie in ages and don't particularly want one. I tend to drink them too fast and freeze my throat.

I love them but being diabetic they are a big no now.
Kids buy them all the time. I sometimes steal a sip.

Now a days its just diet coke or sugar free ice tea for me with lots of ice.

We have a 711 less than a mile from my house and we get slurpees about once a week. The first thing my youngest said when he woke up today was “it’s free slurpee day!” Not sure how he knows or why he cares because it’s always free for him, I’m the one paying lol
