It’s the Monday before NYE, which means it’s time to start thinking our New Years Resolutions, if you make them. In my opinion, reachable and realistic New Years Resolutions are a good thing physically and mentally. But, like I said, they have to be reachable and realistic and you can’t be difficult to live with when trying to achieve them. If youre going to make everyone else miserable when trying to do your resolution, then maybe you’re not ready to do it, and you should wait for another year. Let’s learn a little about New Years Resolutions…..

So, there ya go. Let’s now find out if you’re making any resolutions for 2026. If you could post what they are to help inspire others, I would appreciate it. So, give us your resolution answer today…..

Are you making any New Years resolutions for 2026?
If yes…….what are they for?
(multiple choice)

For Me……Some years I do and some years I don’t. I have not decided yet, if I’m doing any for 2026, which is why I’m posting this today. I still have a few days to decide and I’m sure many of you feel the same way. Normally, when I do make a resolution, I’m very good at keeping them throughout the year and continue keeping them. If I feel I can’t keep a resolution, then I won’t make it. I’m considering a 2026 goal and that’s to get my left knee replaced - I’m about 90% decided about this. If I do make a NYE resolution, it will be to have less sugar. Sugar is truly like a drug to me and I really need to cut down my sugar intake. I’d like to reduce it by 50%, which is huge for me. I think I’m talking myself into this as I type it. I feel this is reachable and realistic, and I know this will be good for me. Ok….i just decided, this will be my New Years Resolution :thumbsup2 Until then…I still have Christmas treats to eat 😬

I’m pondering a few some years I do them some years I don’t it’s an ongoing process but I have a few things on my plate that I am considering I’m going to do some pondering tonight narrow it down but I do have a few things I’m going to be working on next year Hit a minor incident that set me back a little bit but I’m not gonna let it keep me from doing my goals for 2026 it’s just gonna delay them a little bit
I have things I want to get done around my house and I have a timeline for that
And I have things I want to get done for me and myself then I’m going to work out a timeline for and I’m gonna try to be very realistic with it and that is an issue I have on not giving myself enough time so I gotta work on that
I think it will help if I review how far I’ve come over the past year and the things I’ve accomplished if I look at where I started and where I am now it will help me with my timeline because you often don’t see all the things that you get done over the year so you have to go back and review everything to see how far you’ve come like I said it’s a work in progress

I’m with you I definitely need to cut back on my sugar it always seems to ramp up starting with Halloween and all that candy so thankfully once we get past Easter the candy and the sugar will cut back it didn’t help that I bought a bunch of candy yesterday because it was 50% off🤣🤣🤣 thankfully it won’t last long !! it may not make it to New Year’s 🤣🤣🤣

I am not good with 'hard and fast' resolutions; when/if I don't meet up to it, I feel like a failure. Instead, if I do make a resolution, I am better with something general. Last year I resolved simply to take better care of myself. This came thru in very small ways but overall I feel they have made a difference in my life. I think this year I am going to resolve to continue taking better care of myself, continue the things that have become habit, try to reinstate the things that have slipped, and work towards being overall healthier, both physically and mentally.

I don't routinely make resolutions but I have found that if there's some change or goal I want to meet in the new year, it's best to start it ahead of the holiday. Last year, it was health and fitness. In November 2024, I started working on the food and dietary aspects. On December 15, 2024, I began adding in the fitness components. I've had tremendous success and I attribute a lot of it to starting early.

As this new year approaches, I have 2-3 goals that I'd like to see come to fruition and rather than wait, I've started working on all three. In fact, one of those will have the ball really start rolling today. It's a fun goal as well...well, at least to me. I have a bunch of special jewelry that needs to be repaired as well as a bit of scrap and old pieces I will never wear. I plan to have the broken pieces repaired and sell the metal and stones from the discards to the jeweler which should not only offset the costs of repairs but may also help fund jazzing up one of the broken pieces. The other goals include finding a nutritionist once I hit my weight loss goal (as I'm good at losing but not maintaining...and have some ED issues I'd like to get in check), and by spring- I also plan to start dusting off my performance side of my singing voice so I can be audition ready by spring 2027.

My only resolution is 4k bay-bee:happytv:

Good luck with the sugar reduction Sandy. It's difficult when sooooo many things contain sugar:)

I am making the same resolution that I have been making for decades........NOT to make any resolutions.

Another one for no resolutions. I'm very much of the opinion that if I want to do something (or not do something), I should do it any time of the year and not just for the New Year.

I voted that I was insure about doing them. I’ve done them in the past. But I’m starting to think it’s a waste of time because I’m off the train by the second or third week.

Yes yes and yes - so very true
I will take it in baby steps to make sure I stick to it. The first thing I need to change is my cereal. I love cereal and I love cereal with some element of sugar. So, this will be my first change - I will be switching to plain Rice Krispies, Rice Chex and Corn Chex, boring regular Cheerios (did I just say that out loud - LOL! and etc) After that, I will make another change. Doing things in stages always works well for me.

Not a resolution person here. Best wishes with yours, Sandy. Getting that knee done will be sooo good for you.
Thanks Dan!
I really should have done it a long time ago, but I always had reasons not to. My biggest one was because Katie was still playing softball. I always said when she's done is when I'm going to pull the trigger and get that knee replaced. Well, she's been retired for over a year now, so I guess I don't have that reason anymore.
