How often do you see Hummingbirds by your home?

For Me…..Sometimes
I do have a Hummingbird feeder that I didn’t put out this year. After seeing a hummingbird the other day by my flowers it’s making me want to bring it out. It seems like they use it more in the late summer and fall to bulk up to get ready for winter. I do love watching them. Next to Cardinals, they are my favorite bird.

We used to put out a feeder, too. Having to replace the food so frequently made us quit putting it out.

When we lived in TN we also hummingbird bee moths that were like watching itty bitty hummingbirds :)

Omg I love those little guys and I have 6 feeders and about 10 and see them every day up to September - I’ve had two stuck in my garage this weekend - successful in getting them out - they fly right up to me all the time - they are so cute !!!!!
I’ve read all about them - how they like their food and where / what plants etc - they fight over the feeders as one will believe it Owns it - hence why I have so many - I’ve planted things they like to attract them ( trying to keep them pesky deer from eating them ) - I’ve been feeding hummingbirds for over 40 years - I track myself when they arrive and when they leave -
FYI - they were late arriving this year and so far they are still active in my area - latest they have ever stayed was first week in September - curios to see what they do - I am down a few as I’m only seeing about 4 - our weather is wet but warm

Yes…..this is the main reason I stopped putting it out.
Now that DD19 is at college, and I’ll be home more, I’m ok with changing the food often. In the past when her and I were go go go, it just didn’t fit in with my schedule. Not because I didn’t have time to do it, but because I was busy and would forget to do it.

We have a lot of birds, but no hummingbirds that I'm aware of. Marie feeds the birds, but no HB feeder.

I don't see them by my house, but my parents have a hummingbird feeder by their back steps and we see them multiple times a day there.

We have them every day at our house. We have two feeders on our deck and I have roses and butterfly bushes they also like. We usually have at least 5 on any given day. They love the rain and wind and get out and sword fight during storms. I've had them do fly bys on my head often.

I see them by the flowering shrubs occasionally. They could be out more and me not see them. I don't go outside much in spring, summer, fall.....too hot.
We used to put a feeder out but it was too much trouble

Other. I’ve never seen one near my home, now or ever. The first time I ever saw one actually was last year, on vacation to BC’s Sunshine Coast. They were enchanting. :lovestruc

I put out a hummingbird feeder this year and see them nearly every day. I have one in the front and one in the back but have yet to see one at the one in the front, only in the back.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a hummingbird. Apparently they do exist around here, but are rare.

We used to see them a lot, but I don’t see them as often these days. We have never put out a feeder.

I'm not certain I've ever seen a hummingbird.

come spring we start getting them all day. if i flake on setting up the feeder i have them hovering by my back windown staring at me with the stink eye. once i get the feeder up they are constantly bopping around the property and returning to the deck for a shaded drink. they also like to drive my cats crazy by coming up and staring at them trough the window.

Coincidentally, just walked out on my back porch and saw this recipe! We inherited my father in law's house when he passed at 93. He LOVED and I mean LOVED hummingbirds. We kept the freezer and I never had the heart to take it down.
