2010 rescued a 2 weeks old feral kitten that got separated from her mama when a stack of pallets at work got moved from the back of the property to the front loading dock.

The kitty was named temporarily “Pallet” while my daughter came up with a permanent name but it stuck. Her full name is Pallet Marie.

Gosh, my only baby pet was pre-1999. A brother and sister pair of kittens we adopted. I named my boy Jimmy Buffett, and Sis named the sweet little girl Robin. She was a runt and always looked like a kitten. They lived long happy lives with my parents after we grew up and moved out.

DH and I have tossed around the idea of getting our kids a puppy or kitten, which I know they would love. We have two older cats that we adopted in 2020 at 8 years old. They are older than our kids

Last year. We got a puppy in March and another in July. The boys are exactly 5 months apart. Those were some exhausting months.

We got a quarantine puppy back in May 2020. Pretty sure that'll be our last puppy. I don't have the energy or inclination to housebreak again. Roxie's been the BEST dog, though, and she's a real joy.

Younger DD got a pair of baby guinea pigs in 2005. They only lasted about 5-6 years. I was surprised how sad I was when they passed on, our household has not had any pets since (although older DD adopted 2 kittens after a hurricane in St Thomas 5 years ago)

My dog Lulu, has since passed, came home at 8 weeks but all of the cats I have adopted have been older, until my current babies. They were 4 months when I an adopted them (they are 3 now). It was my first time having 2 and kittens, no one warned me lol

SLO, the puppy is adorable.

Obi, was the last baby. We got him at 8 weeks old in July 2022. This is a puppy picture of him.

In the fall 2006 we got our puppy cairn, Woody, who just passed away 11 months ago at age 17.

Someone offered me a chance to get a couple kittens yesterday. I saw the pics. They are so cute. But, I just don't have the energy anymore to be raising kittens.

My last kitten was in 2022. Don't let anyone fool you by saying that a cat is an adult cat at 1 year old (and will settle down.) My cat had rambunctious energy until she was FIVE.

The last baby was a puppy my aunt got in 1993. She was a yellow lab/golden retriever mix. We've always had adult pets since then.

Never. I only had goldfish growing up. The first rescue dog that DH and I adopted was 4 years old and our current one was 2.

For Me…..,Yesterday, which is what inspired this poll. We fell in love with this little guy and brought him home. He’s still without a name, so if anyone has a suggestion, please post it. We tend to like names that are Ss & Ks, but I doesn’t have to be. We originally named him Sullivan to call him Sully, but I’ve accidentally said Sophie (our last dog that passed away 2 years ago) several times yesterday, that I decided Sully won’t work - it’s to close to Sophie. So we’re back to the drawing board. I like Koda, from Brother Bear, but my DH isn’t convinced yet and I don’t want to dominate the decision. My DD20, who’s 2 1/2 hours away now is so bummed to not be with him, especially when the neighbor kids are FaceTiming her with him - LOL!

The reason why we like names that are Ss & Ks is because DD26 and I are an S names, DH & DD20 are K names. 2 of our dogs were S names and one was an I name, and he was an I name. He’s the only dog that didn’t fit in with our family and he went to be a police dog, one that goes to schools. He was a good boy, he just didn’t work out with us at the time (he was a black lab).

ETA: When you said "S", I heard King Triton sternly saying, "Sebastlan!" (in SpectroMagic) Would that work?

For K, I can only think of Kit. Or Kirby. I like Koda, from BB, but I hear you about wanting everyone in the family to make the decision.

We had Walter, our tuxedo kitty, join the family two years ago when he was 3 months old. My suggestion for names: Samson.

If fosters count, last weekend we had a kitten. If not, then about 3 years ago I had a pair of foster kitten sibling and ended up adopting them.

It's not Disney (unless you dig deep and count the vacuum in The Brave Little Toaster) but I kind of like Kirby for him as K name.
