Poinsettias are so beautiful to look at this time of year, and a beautiful addition to many’s holiday decor.
So, I’m wondering today…..

Do you have any poinsettias in your home?
Are they real or fake?
What color(s) are they?

For Me…..,I love poinsettias all year. I have 5 large potted fake red ones and they are very realistic looking. Two of them stay out all year. My living room/front room is red and white, so they are a beautiful addition and they keep a tiny hint of Christmas in the house all year. I started buying these because I didn’t want real ones in the house with our dog, and even though she’s passed away, we still like the fake ones best - no maintenance required, which I love. I really like red poinsettias. I don't have any plants right now, but if I see a nice one on sale I might buy it.

I have been able to keep the poinsettia alive until spring, when I planted it in my garden. They grow really well, even in our Midwest climate. One year I was able to bring the plant back indoors in the fall and make the leaves turn red again. It looked great but it was a lot of work.

I love them. I love plants but I’m not a great gardener. My husband refers to the ledge with my potted plants and cacti as the hospice. So I got some pretty red fake poinsettias and a lovely little tree for the bathroom. It looks real too.

Currently we have one live one, a pretty good sized one. It was a gift, but we don’t know who left it. It was just there on the enclosed front porch one day. It was still kind of cold then so we thought someone would call to say they left it, if for no other reason than to make sure we saw it and brought it in. So far still no word.

I think they are beautiful, but we have 3 cats and 3 dogs, so I don't have any.

I think they’re pretty but I’m not great with live plants and we have pets, so I have no real desire to own one. I guess I haven’t paid enough attention to realize that they even sell artificial poinsettias

Just one this year; a real, red modestly-sized one. I love them and in previous years I've had lots more - I like to mix the colours, and some years you find novelty ones (blue, purple, etc.). I'm in a new home this year and still in the throes of renovation, so I wasn't able to work out the perfect decorating plan and there are way fewer nooks-and-crannies to accommodate decoration.

I think they are pretty but I have 2 cats, one who is obsessed with plants so I don’t buy them.

I don't think we have any poinsettias this year. In the past, we have had real as well as artificial.
