I like them but I have enough trouble keeping three plants because of the kitty cat so none for me and if I had any on the ground where the dog could get at them they wouldn’t last a day

I’ve never had them before, but my younger one’s travel ball team sold them as a fundraiser this year. My parents bought us some so they’d be on display for their holiday visit. I hope they make it, because I’m awful with plants.

I love poinsettias. We live in South Florida and thru the years I have had success with planting them in the ground in our front yard. I now have 3 planted in the ground from last year that have grown into one huge one. It is quite beautiful!

I do fake red poinsettias. At this point, it's for convenience, but I seem to recall DH not wanting real ones many years ago with all the puppies and babies in the house.

I have a fake red one for my entry way. I currently have 4 live ones sitting here, but they will go to the church on Saturday to decorate for Christmas. (hoping I can keep them alive that long!)

I don't have any at home right now, but we'll bring one home from church after Christmas Eve service next Sunday.

Had them in the past. Colorful varieties look good for the Holidays. Unfortunately they are tropical plants so unless you live in a greenhouse have NEVER had success with them. They all seem to die in 2-3 weeks. They last about as long as a live Christmas tree. Kinda gave up on buying them anymore since they are definitely not a hardy houseplant that ever does well in the typical indoor climate. I think a lot of people still buy them for the colorful foliage and hope for the best or forget how sensitive they were in the past. Seems like a waste of money when they are dead before New Year's.

Wow I didn't even know you could buy fake poinsettias. But our golden retriever would probably eat the fake ones too so we don't have any.

We don't have any. We have two house plants and that is two too many! When we remodeled 10 years ago our guest bathroom tub was filled with house plants. All gifts from when a family member passed away. My wife finally found homes for them all because, while they were given as a gift during a painful time, they were nothing but work.

A financial institution with which we have long been affiliated has been sending an enormous poinsettia gift for years, but this year they downsized to a center piece consisting of an arrangement of Scotch pine and small candles. DW was pretty disappointed that we didn't get the flowers, but the center piece does smell nice.

Then you need to get out there and buy her a beautiful Poinsettia, Ron. :santa:

I have a fake one I put in my dry sink. I used to keep a real one, but we often go away the week after Christmas, so it dies.
