I tried it once because I saw it in the supermarket and was intrigued. It's such a pretty fruit, but it tastes like cardboard. So I never bought it again.
My daughter likes a drink at Starbucks that contains dragon fruit. She bought a bag of frozen dragonfruit cubes to try the replicate the drink at home. The drink is pretty good, but I think the dragon fruit adds more to the look than the flavor. I have never bought them "fresh." though.
I think they grow dragon fruit in the Living with the Land exhibit in Epcot. I've heard of it and have seen it, but I have no idea how to use it or what it takes like. I don't know where it grows. It's very dramatic looking, though.
We have had it and I have occasionally buy it if it’s on sale. It’s not very flavorful, more like a bland kiwi. It looks so pretty and exotic though and I like to buy different fruits to get a variety of vitamins and nutrients. I don’t think it would be any star of a recipe other than looking cool in a fruit salad.
I have heard of it, but don't recall ever having it or seeing it in the store. I will have to look because a search shows my Walmart and my grocery store carry it.
