What is your opinion of Marble Rye bread?



For Me….I have no idea I’ve never had it.
I am honestly not a big fan of rye bread, which is why I’ve never had marble rye.
The only thing I think of when I hear marble rye is the below Seinfeld episode - to funny!

The inspiration for today’s poll is DH coming home last night with a loaf of marble rye for himself - he loves rye bread. I just finished making his sandwich, with this bread, for his lunch today at work. Now that it’s in the house, I will try a slice to see if I like it (I highly doubt it - LOL!)

First, Seinfeld "The Rye" episode is in my top 5 favorite episodes. Jerry's face as he runs away from stealing the marble rye ... classic!

Second, I love marble rye or any rye bread. My favorite sandwich is rueben on rye sub thousand island for spicy mustard. Oh yeah, doesn't get much better!

I like marble rye, and pumpernickel too, but only have them once in a while. I love regular rye bread (with or without seeds). The best is fresh from a bakery.

I'm with you, Slo. In general, I'm not a big fan of rye bread, so I kind of doubt I'd like marble rye. I've never had it, though, so I'd be interested to try to see for myself.

I like it but never buy it just for the household. It makes a lovely addition to mixed bread baskets for a buffet spread.

We don't buy rye bread.

Our DD makes it for us !!! Every month or so, when we see her, she bring three or four loaves. Double wrap and pop them in the freezer.

I love marbled and regular seeded rye bread. So good with ham, swiss and mustard. Really good toasted with peanut butter too.

In the winter, when I make stuffed cabbages, we sometimes serve it with buttered marble or regular rye on the side to soak up the juices. Very Slovak thing to do. There's actually a local church that did a "Slavic" festival in the before times. They serve it the same way. Dang I hope they go back to normal this Fall.....

Edit: I forgot, I even made rye bread in the bread machine once. Not bad at all.

I only have rye bread either regular or marble every once in a while when we do carryout of a corned beef sandwich from this deli type place near us.

Absolutely! A reuben on marble rye is the best! I can't say that I ever buy marble rye, but if I have a chance for a sandwich I will def go for it.
