The only issue I have is the phone situation. I do not have a land line and need a phone for emergency purposes/little kids.

I could do away with social media and random checking news, etc. I actually am doing this now. Dis is my only social media allowed. I do not check any apps on my phone. Only check phone calls and emails.

I only use Dis through my old laptop.

I wouldn’t. Especially not today. I’m on-call for my work this week and have to be available 24/7. Besides, I don’t really see the point. :confused3 Should we also try to go a day without food, water, medicine or other modern conveniences like heat, transportation and indoor plumbing? There are lots of things I could do without, but why would I bother?

Had no idea this was a thing!
I could give them up, would love to actually but I can't on a work day as I need to be able to be reached by guys out in the field/jobsites 24/7.
I leave my phone ringer down and in the kitchen over night, and on weekends when I'm outside working in the yard/fields/barn I will often leave the phone in the house.
And count me in as one of the people who do not turn my phone back on the second the tires hit the runway on a flight :P
I like playing Luddite on the weekends. I will check out the various news sites I like in the AM/PM, same with my email. It's a reset for me that my brain needs. Also helps that this board is the only chat type board I participate in, and I don't have to any social media.

I will actually be on a device more today because our school district called an elearning day (I’m a teacher) due to predicted severe weather later today.

Absolutely except my job is on a computer so on a weekday I typically cannot.

When we camp there is typically no data or cell reception, all good with that.

I was going to say yes if we were on vacation because we don’t get a data plan when we go state side, or if we were cruising but now they make you use an app for everything so have to use phone.

Then I thought oh that’s not true because I would use the TV….in hotels rooms…lol

Hmmm when we are at a cottage we get very spotty signal so spend very little time on the phone if any. So I guess I do unplug at times.

I don't have a cell phone, so no problems there! I read books and on my Nook, so if not using the Nook happens, I'm still OK. The only issue is my laptop, as I need it for work. Even if it's a weekend or evening, I usually have grading to do, so I'd be kinda stuck there. (Darn! Can't grade- hahaha!)
SO yes, I can live without my devices, such as they are!

Nope, still have a job so cannot do this. If they chose a day that was not a work day, perhaps.

I think I could. I went the majority of a day not too long ago not even realizing my phone was still in my bedroom.

As long as I have TV and a book I’d been fine.

I could but won't.

I am leaving on a cruise tomorrow. I will be unplugged on the sea days, will have cellular service on port days so will pull out my phone and see what I missed.

I usually spend a couple of hours in the morning on the internet before turning it off for the rest of the day. But I need my cellphone for communication with family and other "stuff".

I definitely couldn't today because I use a laptop all day at work.

On an off day I would have a very hard time not using my phone at all. Even on vacation I generally need it at some point for maps and figuring out where we should eat or go next.

I’m like you @slo, I could go without social media but I need the phone for vital communication with dh and dd.

I could if a Kindle doesn't count. I don't have any paper books. I use my cell phone only as a phone or for taking pictures or when I'm at WDW as a Kindle while in lines so pretty easy to not use it for one day. I have a tablet but only use it to read on if I'm reading off the internet (my Kindle doesn't do that) again as long as I have my kindle I have over 200 books downloaded to it right now. I have a small laptop and I could go a day without checking email, banking, or being on Ancestry or Disboards. Hubby on the other hand, nope. His job is computers and he works from home on his laptop. He is the tech security officer for a huge firm. He works from our couch most of the time but pretty much is available 24/7/365.

Daily, I use my smart phone, IPad, Kindle, & smart TV.

I suppose, if I HAD to, I could “unplug” for a day from all except my phone. We don’t have a landline, & I’m not turning off my phone in case someone needs me like our kids or our parents.

And, again, if I HAD to, I could, but I wouldn’t want to.
