My favorite egg nog comes from Hood, an old-time New England dairy company- although if there is rum or bourbon to add, I'll drink ANY egg nog, hahaha! I haven't had any this year. I'm not the shopper and haven't thought to ask for any to be purchased. How did I miss that??

I love Egg Nog - I don't usually spike it with anything, but this year my DH bought some Cookie Dough Whiskey for me to spike it with and it was fantastic.

I like the flavor but not the viscosity. We bought some this year from a small local dairy that we had been told has "the best." I drank about 1/4 cup and that was plenty for me. Egg nog is not a regular part of our holiday celebration (and I don't think I've ever had it spiked.)

The idea of it was enough to put me off trying it for 49 years. I bought some last year and really liked it. I will drinking it tomorrow. I have various things to add to it. Spiced Rum, Whiskey, and thanks to @slo I will try some with Fireball as well.

I LOVE it, and drink it from Thanksgiving through New Year's. Small quantities at a time because it's so rich and sweet, but I can't imagine the holidays without it. Love it plain or spiked with Kahlua, bourbon, or whiskey. But always a small sprinkle of nutmeg on top.

I'm not a big fan of egg not, but I'll use it instead of milk or creamer in my coffee.

I love it but won't be drinking it. I would rather save the calories for something else. I can't remember the last time I had some.

I haven't had egg nog since I was a kid(un-spiked of course) and I thought it was nasty. I've come to realize that what I had came from a carton from a grocery store and was likely a poor version of what it was supposed to be. I'd very much like to try it again with a quality recipe, but I know no one else in the family would drink it and I'd have way too much on hand. So unless someone pops in with a homemade batch, I'm likely to remain nog-less for the duration. Meanwhile there are plenty of sugary, carby, fatty, alcohol-laden treats around the house.:teeth:

I love it. Over ice with a little whisky and a sprinkle of nutmeg. I water it down with a touch of milk. Haven't had any yet this year, though. To-do list!

I will say, we bought the Aldi version this year and all 4 of us almost threw up. It tasted like thick celery juice with spices.

As much as I love celery, this wasn't it.

The ingredients included carrots, which...yeah. Wish I had read that before purchasing. It was absolutely vile. So, I can see how people can try it and hate it. Have to get the right one - not too thick, not too thin. Balance of creamy, spices, and sweet.

Those of you who buy it for the holidays regularly, does it seem much more expensive this year? I don't remember ever paying over $10 dollars for a quart of it before. That was just the regular Prairie Farms variety as well. Maybe my memory isn't as good as I thought it was.

It’s OK but i don’t miss it. I haven’t purchased it in years but if offered elsewhere I’ll have a small cup.

:crazy2: This. I find it totally gross. I buy it for DS, who really enjoys the first carton of the season but then tapers off quite quickly. I almost always end up throwing out most of the last carton I buy.

Yes, it was the same situation when I did buy it. We’d drink a cup or two, then the carton got shoved to the back of the fridge and finally got thrown out in February.

I’ve never tried it, but I know I wouldn’t like it. Especially after watching my brother pour out some that was four days past its best by date. It had been refrigerated but it came out looking like molasses. Not in colour, but in viscosity. No thank you.
