just a sliver tip if your child will let you (which could be a challange) johnson and johnson first aid tape. Put it over the sliver at night, remove tape and sliver in the moring. Works wonders. Johsnon and johnson (first aid tape) also works on fingernails chewed a bit to short or that darn zit that just wont pop (makes it ripen then you can pop it). Pretty cheap too.
