Hello!! I am very excited about this ride but have a few questions please. I LOVE Rock and Roll Rollercoaster because of how smooth it is. How jerky and such is slinky dog? Also, is this ride padded at all? What is the restraint like? We are staying at B Resort and Spa which allows us to book fast passes within the 60 day window. I am aware even given this fact slinky dog is still almost impossible to get. The window has now changed to 7 am and is not midnight correct? Thank you!

Okay, I'm trying to remember. I've turned into a rollercoaster wimp in my old age and no longer ride RnR! But I did Slinky Dog last year and thought it was very smooth. Restraints are just a lap bar. It's basically a kids coaster so not really comparable to something like RnR. We could never get a fast pass for it and waited 2 hours in the worst of heat of the year for it.

Great news!! Thank you both!! If someone knows wether or not this ride is padded in anyway it would be helpful. Does anyone know about how long the actual ride is?

117 seconds.

Not a lot of cushion.

It uses a LSM (linear synchronous motor) propulsion system like RNRC, so it is very smooth. My kids rated it the smoothest coaster at Disney. Keep in mind, other than the sheer number of times they have ridden everything there, they are not certified by the State of Florida as roller coaster experts.

Very smooth, not a ton of padding but still very comfortable, normal lap bar which makes you feel secure but not constrained. Also sometimes you need to look for 60+ a few days to get the FP, so plan your HS day for mid to back half of your trip if you want your choice of times.

WOW, thank you EVERYONE for ALL of the information, picture and everything. EXTREMELY helpful. THAT is why I love this place!!! Been gone for quite a while but can't wait to go back to WDW for my 35th birthday/new job celebration!!

Hi everyone! My dad has a bad back, so he can't do most coasters, but he does ride 7DMT.
How does Slinky Dog stack up to the tameness of the 7DMT? Is it as smooth? About how much faster would you say it is?
I'm thinking he should skip it, but I'd love to hear from people who've ridden it.

I thought slinky was just a smooth as 7DMT.

Slinky may be a bit more "thrilling" but if you get comfortably walk and sit in the ride, I think anyone would be fine. You can see all the Slinky track from the ground, so that should help you decide as well.

I would say it is just as smooth, and pretty similar as far as speed. The main difference to me is that there some up and downs, like little hills. Certainly nothing resembling big drops though.

If you like RnRC than SDD is absolutely no problem for you, it's like a smoother and faster PeopleMover in terms of comfort.

RnRC tends to give me a headache, tbh, so I was also surprised to see it described as "smooth"--but I suppose in terms of not having a bunch of jolting motions or rattling, it is. It just exerts enough force on riders that I make a point of only riding it once and then going off and doing other things for an hour or two before I even consider a second go. SM does not give me a headache, so I consider it the gentler ride even though I'm aware it can be rough if you have any back problems.

RnRC can give me a headache too, but not because it’s jerky. It’s because I’m short and the shoulder restraints sit in the wrong spot and my head bangs into it back and forth. SM just makes everything hurt, but I still ride it. 🤷‍♀️

SM used to be my FAVORITE ride as a kid but the last two times I rode it, it was just two jerky for me and I felt very unstable in it.
