Hi all,

As a ride wimp, the most intense ride I have ever gone on is 7DMT (I have a mini heart attack when I go on it! all my friends tease me that it's a "kiddie coaster" - but not to me!!

I'm wondering if Slinky Dog is more or less intense than 7DMT?

I previewed on youtube and SDD seems to go higher than 7DMT....gulp:scared: ...I promised my kids that I would go on it but they are testing my ride wimp limits!

Thanks for any feedback, you friendly neighborhood ride-wimp, Marina :flower1:

No worries. I too am a coaster wimp. Have you done Big Thunder? I’d put it about there in terms of intensity. I enjoyed SDD but I don’t really enjoy RnR because of the launch...this is nowhere near that.

It is smoother than BTMRR, I think it is about the same as 7DMT in intensity, but it feels a little scarier since it it more open (so you can see that you are higher off the ground)

Slinky Dog has more dips. Mine train has more sharp turns.

I like Slinky Dog more because the seats are more comfortable and it feels smoother. My wife said it was worse because of the dips.

It's slightly more "intense" than SDMT, IMO. SDD is really smooth, and it's "comfortable." One thing about it is that you can basically see the whole track before getting on it, so if someone is unsure, I'd suggest getting a FP is possible and then go watch it for a bit and then make a decision. The dips are definitely "worse" than SDMT, but it is an incredibly fun ride, but it is a true mini-coaster.

7dmt and btmr have fast turns, but no drops. SDD has 2 drops. They aren't like Everest, but you will feel it just for a second. All 3 riders have about the same speed, roughly 35mph. It is the smoothest ride I've ever been on.
I'll give you the same advice I told my daughter, and now she is able to ride everything with me.
1) sit in your seat and firmly push yourself back with your feet
2) don't clench up your stomach, it will make it feel worse
3) on hills and sharp turns try and exhale...scream or yell as well, it will release your anxiety
4) ask to sit in the front, it usually is much less intense in the front seat of coasters

If you don't end up riding it, don't feel bad...my wife chickened out in July. Ever since I took her on Everest, she's a nervous wreck on these.

I’m glad you asked this because I was wondering the same :-). I can just ride 7DMT, but Thunder and Splash are too much for me. It sounds like Slinky Dog might be too much for me :-P

I don't like the big drops on coasters, and have vertigo so going backwards and upside down are not for me, so no EE, ToT, or RnRC. I have ridden Splash about 6 times but don't do that anymore, and have never ridden Space (I remember the Wild Mouse from my childhood... nope). I LOVE BTMRR... but prefer to be in a seat near the front. I was fine on 7DMT until the very end, where you are sitting outside the cottage. Something awful happened, I don't know what, but I was totally, suddenly motion sick. :crazy2:  I was out of commission for over an hour... so I'm not riding THAT ever again. We don't have FP+ for SDD this time around; we are going to give it a look-over and then think about it. My tier 1 FPis for TSMM, which makes me queasy but it's manageable, and I LOVE to hear DD24 laugh out loud through the whole thing!

YDS and I love the drops and turns, but DH and ODS don't. They have braved BTMRR, 7DMT, Splash, Space Mtn., and EE, though. Is it closer to EE than 7DMT? I just want to warn them.

They won't do T oT or RRC.

IMO, it is closer to BTMR than EE. The biggest difference, as others have rightly pointed out, is that you see the bare coaster track, you see where you are going, it doesn't feel enclosed at all, hence may seem faster. It is really smooth as well.

Glad to read your post. I’m also a coaster chicken. I do like 7DMT, though. I’m hoping to ride SDD at least once. Debating on rather I can handle it on our December trip.:-) Let us know if you decide to try it and what your thoughts were!

I love 7D, Space is good, I don't love BTMR because it's too jerky. I loved 95% of SDD. It's definitely more intense than 7D because it doesn't have the little break in the middle... and it has one too many bumps in a row at the end. I was good til the last one, then I was dizzy. I'll still do it again, but if 7D is your limit, it's more.

Slinky Dog has more dips than Dwarfs but I would say they are similar other than that. Slinky is very smooth. Dwarfs may have more turns. I think both are more doable than Big Thunder for someone like me. But I am not really a coaster person.

Slinky dog was more intense then BTMR and Mine train to me. BTMR is more intense then Mine Train to me. Mine train is the smoothest coaster in the Park. Slinky dog gives more of the coming out of your seat feeing then either
