slim in 6?

You don't need it. It is basically "diet and exercise." The DVD has their basic workout and they gradually up the level based on how long you have been doing the program. I think they have levels 1 2 and 3.

If you do our own diet and exercise program, you will get the same results. Really, do any of us need to spend a ton of money to be told not to eat ice cream and instead to get a workout in? :lmao:

I think you should only comment on this program if you actually know what you are talking about. It doesn't tell you to just not eat ice cream and get a workout in. And if $60 is a ton of money for you, then I think you have more to worry about than just exercising.

The problem is that some people need the discipline that comes with this type of program. Granted, anyone can lose weight by just dieting and exercise, but it becomes easier when the tools are laid out for you in a simple way. It does have 3 levels of workouts. You do each for 2 weeks or until you feel up to moving to the next level and it includes a meal plan to get you eating healthy.

This program started me down my healthy lifestyle. Prior to this, I did diet and exercise with minimal results. I struggled like everyone else and felt that I needed something else, cause doing it on my own was not getting me where I wanted to be. I dropped 25 lbs in the frist six weeks of doing Slim in 6 and then another 10 the following month. I stuck with the meal plan during that additional month and continued to workout 5 days/week.

I used it for about 1.5 years, then I felt the need to elevate my exercise regimine to the next level and I am now in my second round of P90X, which is distributed by the same company.

I did it about 5 years ago after having my son. For me, the pros were that it was convenient (can do it at home and no time required to get to the gym and to get home), minimal equipment needed, different levels (can build up to the harder DVDs) Cons: I found the music boring and it was boring to work out by myself after awhile. I'm competitive and like to challenge myself (i.e. if I'm at the gym and the person next to me is still doing the crunches, I'll keep going, but at home I find it easier to proclaim it too hard and stop early). Depending on what you are looking for, it has potential. I did find the variety of different classes at my local class more fun, but I gained a lot of confidence by doing the Slim in 6 first. Although, I probably would just jump into the gym classes right away if I were to do it again. But, I really like my classes.

Wow, you make a HECK of a lot of assumptions here.

1. I DID purchase the program. So I do know about it first hand. And I am free to comment on whatever I choose. Why you would assume that I commented without knowledge is your issue, not mine.
2. The money is not a lot to me. I have absolutely nothing to worry about in that regard, though thanks for your concern.
3. I don't have to worry about exercising. I am a marathoner and triathlete and fitness trainer. My exercise regime is firmly in place and is a huge part of my lifestyle.

The OP asked for opinions on this program. I know the program so I gave my opinion.

You also know the program and gave yours. I am glad that this program worked for you. GREAT! I am in favor of anything that gets anyone on the road to a healthier lifestyle.

The entire point of WISH is that we support each other here. There are a lot of newcomers and a lot of us who have been kicking around for years. Questions about different types of programs are asked all the time. Lots of people give lots of different opinions. That is the whole point.

The OP asked for an opinion, so I gave mine. Nothing wrong with that. Nor is there anything wrong with you giving yours. No need to blast me for my stating that I don't think this program is worth it. Obviously, you think otherwise. I have no problem with that. Please don't take issue with the fact I did not find it worth the money.

Let's look at my assumptions:

1) "I DID purchase the program." If so, then you completely mischaracterized the program by stating that all it does is tell you, "not to eat ice cream and instead to get a workout in?"

2) "The money is not a lot to me." Yet, you stated that a person looking to buy this program would have to "spend a ton of money..."

My assumptions were made on your exact words, which, in my opinion, mischaracterized the program. That is why I felt you had not used the program. Easy assumption to make based on your statements.

"I am a marathoner and triathlete and fitness trainer."

"The entire point of WISH is that we support each other here." Yet, you put down a program that can be helpful without much supporting evidence. Good support. :thumbsup2

I have heard good things about this program for weight loss. I have other Beachbody programs that I think have more rigorous exercise routines though.

I have Turbo Jam and Chalean Extreme and Power 90. I really like Chalean Extreme and am doing that right now.
