 My plan to start a diet in February is way overdue, like 21 days overdue.:rolleyes1

So I decided maybe I'd try SlimFast for lunch. Does anyone else use SlimFast and if so, where is the cheapest place to buy it? What's the best flavor and do you get the kind you mix, or the ready to drink kind?

Thanks:cutie:

When I buy it - I get it at Sam's Club in chocolate (ready to drink). I have a tendency to drink it more often than I should - so it doesn't help me lose weight!

I like to make it with the powder compared to the prepackaged stuff. I like both the chocolate fudge and french van flavors. I buy it at BJs. A HUGE can for $12, for 34 servings.

BTW, read all the info, it helped me. I make it with a light meal for lunch and just by itself for breakfast most days. It has be a part of my weightloss and it helped me lose 65 pounds since the beginning of last year.

I haven't bought it for a while (but I should to lose these pesky 15 lbs.), but I know that I bought the ready-made stuff and could NOT get it down. It tasted vile to me. I think that the powder that you mix into your own milk is much better. I always choose the chocolate flavor.

I usually find it on sale at Target. I think every other week it's on sale for $5 for a 6 pack of pre-mixed cans. Most of the time you can get an 8 pack for the same price as they always seem to have packages with 2 bonus cans. We like the milk chocolate royal flavor.

Be careful - if I haven't had it in awhile it tends to hit my tummy and I've got to get to the bathroom fast! :scared:

Chocolate Royale. The kind you mix yourself in the blender. Sooo much more thick and rich and cheaper too. It satisfies my chocolate cravings.

I buy it at WalMart. They usually have the "extra 2-can" packs on sale. I like that.

I have a SlimFast funny to share:

After seeing how much weight I've lost since September, a rather Pooh-shaped older colleague decided to try it too.

Three weeks later, she complains to me that she actually GAINED 7 pounds! I was flabbergasted! Then she elaborated:

"I had a shake with my breakfast every day, a shake with my lunch, and some days, I even had a shake with my dinner!"

SHE WAS ADDING 360+ calories to her daily diet!!

Have you looked at the Wal-Mart Equate version? When my DD was still horseshowing, she would go all day without eating (nerves, etc.). She HAD to eat something, so we came up with Slim-Fast (it was even easy to drink while sitting on the horse). She hated the actual SF version but really liked the Equate version (chocolate was what she chose), and it was cheaper.

I tired that version and :scared: . I am glad someone else liked it.

Did you just do the "shake for breakfast, shake for lunch, sensible dinner" to loose weight? TIA

I have a shake and a banana for breakfast, a shake with an apple for lunch, and a regular dinner.

I eliminated donuts, candy bars, cookies, brownies, ice cream, etc. from my daily diet (they were pretty much my main food group before), and stopped eating after dinner. For 10 years, DH and I would have a bowl of ice cream or a glass of wine and Homestyle popcorn after the kids went to bed.

From September to late December, I went from a size 10 to a 4. Not even exercising!

WOW that is GREAT!!! I don't know if I am that motivated. Right now I am a size 8/10 but I am very happy. I used to be 20/22. Now the hard part, to keep it off.

I started this a while ago but stopped. I found that I was not eating during the day at all. I figured that having the shake around I would eat and probably lose weight since I wasn't losing anything not eating. I actually liked the Equate version. I haven't had the SlimFast brand in years but bought the Equate recently and really thought it was good, and so much cheaper.

I should start this again. Thanks for reminding me. I have lost all my pregnancy weight and about 5 pre-pg lbs but I was overweight when I got pregnant. I need to lose 30lbs to make me happy, 50lb to make Weight Watchers happy!

That's great! I haven't used Slim Fast for years, but I am so going out and getting some soon. :thumbsup2 After the weekend, of course... ;) :lmao:

thanks for the response! I can do most of what you did, I have the motiviation (beach trip in May), but no wine at night?!?! THAT'S something I'll have trouble stopping. :rolleyes1

A glass of low-fat chocolate milk + a multi-vitamin = the same thing.

That may be true, but I find Slim Fast to be much more filling. :confused3 I know that I would just want to eat if all I drank was chocolate milk, but with Slim Fast I'm able to avoid eating.

Thanks for all the helpful responses - now, where would someone find the Equate brand of SlimFast? May as well save money and calories, right? :cool1:
