Slim Fast. Anyone tried it?

I would like to lose about ten pounds. I lost ten in the spring through watching calories and exercise. I'm not really overweight but I do want to lose a few more pounds.

I have had Slim Fast before and always liked the taste of it. This was a long time ago though so I don't know if they changed the formula because now all I see is the Optima.

Has anyone had success with Slim Fast? How long did it take?
 
I wouldn't recommend Slim Fast. The cans are loaded with sugar. For me, cutting down on simple sugars and eating less at night allows me to lose weight.
 
If you did WW for a month or two you could lose that last 10 pounds. I have tried Slim fast and it does taste ok - I used the powder and made a shake with ice, but I found I really did not lose that much...WW for me is better
 

My dh does well with it - a shake instead of breakfast.

The cans aren't available right now- huge recall from the manufacturer. Try the Sam's Choice/Member's Mark (Wal Mart) brand instead.
 
I thought I'd try it once, not to lose weight but to provide some quick nourishment since I don't have time to take a lunch break at work. I found that it didn't take long to get totally sick of them. No way could I drink those for a long enough period to lose 10 pounds.
 
I sometimes use Slim Fast for a breakfast replacement but for a diet, I wouldn't use it. Too much sugar, just use healthier eating habits.
 
Try some
Rolled oats for breakfast with some stewed apple and a sprinkle of nuts/seeds (linseeds are great)
Soup or salad for lunch with a piece of fruit (maybe a wholegrain roll)
Lean protein and veggies for dinner and a piece of fruit.
One square of dark chocolate

This is not 'slim fast' but 'slim long'

Best thing I ever did for my health and weight was to see a dietician who helped me develop a long term eating plan. It's not just about reducing the calories it's also about getting the necessary nutrients for good health.

My DH and I have both tried Slim Fast in the past. He had results while I didn't. I don't mind the taste of the shakes, but since the chocolate was the only one I really cared for, it really got old fast. Not only that, but within 30 min to an hour after drinking the shakes I would be hungry all over again. However, I do like their online tools that will allow you to list what you've eaten for the day and it will total your calories, fat, etc. They also provide a ton of meal ideas online as well, but because I'm so picky, it was really hard for me to follow any of them.

I'd kinda echo what someone else already posted--simply watching what you eat (for me it's carbs) and exercising has provided me with a lot better results that SF.
