I'm attracted by the size and portability - but you know I have trouble making decisions on this sort of thing! Has anyone tried one? Any opinions? TIA!

LynneR has one, but she's away cropping this weekend. If you don't get any definitive answers by Monday, you might bump up the question or pm her.

I have one but am not really sure I can a really good answer as to what I think of it. I bought it when it first came out, was actually able to use a 50% coupon ... ACM and Michaels hadn't gotten around to adding it to their exclusions yet so I got a sweet deal on it. When I first started trying to use it I had a heck of a time getting a decent cut. If you have a Cricut in my opinion you've got a much more convenient machine. Yes it's bigger but your not dealing with the glue it takes to hold the paper down to cut with the Slice. You can get many more cuts on a page with the Cricut.
I guess maybe I should pull my Slice out and give it another try. They did send out "calibration" cards to update the first machines that were put out. Some of their new cards have a "speed boost update"on them as well which may help out a bit.
Does anyone know if there were any upgrades done when they put the pink machines out?

I have a Slice and have not used it a lot, but what I have done I like. But, I did have an issue the last time I used it, and I need to use it again to see if the problem comes back. If the problem still exists, I'll come back and NOT recommend it! I do know that I love my Cricut a whole lot more, but the Slice is good for small projects like cards. It only cuts to about 4 inches, and the Cricut cuts much larger.

Thanks - I was wondering about the glue issue, I thought it might be a PITA;)

The glue thing isn't a big deal. You just kind of have to plan for it - you put a really thin layer of glue over the glass plate and you're good to go once it's dry, and you can use it over and over without reapplication. If you go back and your plate isn't very tacky, it comes off really easily with warm water and you just start the whole process over again. It's more the placement and calibration that I had issues with at first, caught on with the placement part but am still having problems with the calibration part. I am going to have to get back to this issue!
