Who do I call to reserve one of these for December? WDW-PLAY maybe? And how far out can you book?

TIA!
Kristi

I always call the dining # as they can either transfer me or book it then. We called around our 90 day mark if not before and had no problems.

I booked a sleigh ride for the first time this year. I called WDW-PLAY at the 90 day mark.

Good luck!

Hi!

I just booked one last night - this will be my first time :rotfl:
You can call 407.939.6244 and they can take care of that for you. I booked mine for our first night there, Dec 8th at 6:30pm - the cost is $35.00.

Have a great time!

Thanks for this info - I was waiting for the 60 day mark. Just called and booked our carriage ride for 1st December !!!!!

We did this last year. I reminded me of the hay ride that they have over at Ft Wilderness, only without the RVs or the fireworks. You ride in an open horse drawn carriage. There is no snow, but the night we did it, it was cold! We drank hot cocoa.

perhaps i had a new CM but the gal i spoke with had no idea what i was talking about though i tried to explain to her in several ways. anyway, would love to hear from others with info on where to go for the ride, how to book the reservation.

she then transfered me to someone else and they said FT Wilderness hours/prices and info isnt out until end of OCt. ???

It is my understanding that the sleigh ride is different, right? (We are not as interested in just going around the campground). WHere does your $35 ride go?? THanks in advance.
(ps- i have to giggle that the posters on here seem to know more than CMs sometimes. granted i get that there is a lot to know if you work at disney and all but geez, get me a toll-free number if i am on hold so long...and yes, i am smiling while i say it so pls dont take it wrong)

HI , I am curious about sleigh rides aswell - could anyone enlighten me please

The "sleigh" rides (they aren't really sleighs I don't guess since there isn't any snow) are horse-drawn carriages. They are great fun. We rode one from the Wilderness Lodge.

Here is a link to a thread about it and on page four there are 2 pictures of us in the sleigh.

Hi all, after being on hold for quite a while and being transferred 3 times, I have answers!!

They are calling them "horse drawn excursions" per my 3rd and final CM. they are available at Port Orleans or Fort WIlderness.

30 mins long- 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 small children will fit.

Ressies start at 6 pm, last ressie 9:30 pm.

Book via WDW-PLAY.

Hope this helps!!!

Yes, ours was a horse carriage ride. Folks just call it a sleigh ride because it looks like a sleigh. We got on at Wilderness Lodge and rode over to Ft Wilderness. Here is a picture.

As you can see, it looks like a sleigh...but it is pulled by a horse.

The $35 is for the ride, not per person. It is a very inexpensive thing, IMHO.

Here is a pic showing the horse.

It is really enjoyable. Very quiet and peaceful....I don't think we even heard a car. We didn't pass anything except woods and maybe we went near a running trail, but it was 9:30 at night so no one was running.

We did tip the driver....I think that is expected. Still the price is great!

Like Jackie H. we took the sleigh ride at WL a couple years ago. We booked it again for this year and when I talked to the CM about booking the sleigh ride from WL, she knew exactly what I was talking about. Did not even confuse it with the Carriage ride at FW or PO.

It is $35 for 30 minutes and it will hold up to 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 small children. It leaves from the Port Cochure in front of WL.

No smoking allowed. You may bring drinks on board. The ride will go out in mist, but not in rain. Trips may be cancelled due to inclement weather and rescheduled in which case you will not be charged."

Alot of this information was given to me when I called to book the ride by the CM.

We tried the sleigh ride from WL last year and it was wonderful. There are jingle bells on the sleigh and the driv er played carols and we brought drinks and looked at stars and the moon and they give you a blanket and...I think I'll go book one for us for this year. Bye. :earsboy:

Just a different opinion...I did the "sleigh ride" last year and it was not something I would do again. Boring. The ride is usually in the dark in the woods and you really can't see very much. There wasn't hot chocolate...although people have said you can buy it at the Lodge. The driver didnt even talk to us, no music. Our thoughts were is that all there is? I would rather spend more money and have this made more enjoyable in some way. I have heard the other locations are more enjoyable:) ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo
