Sleigh Ride at Wilderness Lodge

Has anyone taken the sleigh ride at WL? DH and I are planning our after-park activities and wondered what others think about it. We're also curious about the route.

We did it last year on Christmas night and really enjoyed it. Its deifnitely something different than your usualy Disney activity. Basically we went into the woods near the WL, maybe going to Fort Wilderness. Im not very familiar with that area, so, I cant be sure. I also think we were near the pool area at 1 point(we saw some pool). The kids got the biggest kick out of being in the woods in the dark, and of course the horse was cool for them too. For the price, it wasnt bad. And dont forget you can bring along drinks with you if you want. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info. We'll have to schedule it. The sleigh ride sounds very romantic!

We want to go to WDW next year and stay through Dec. 27th. Did you stay at WL? I've read it is wonderful at Christmas.

No, we just visited the WL before our sleigh ride. We split our Christmas stay between the Swan & Poly. To avoid the crowds on Christmas Day we went to MK early for breakfast and a few rides then we spent the rest of the day resort hopping and playing miniature golf. At night we did a little more resort hopping and the sleigh ride. That way we got to check out the decorations at different resorts.

I've scheduled a sleigh ride for me and my wonderful husband the day after Thanksgiving. We're going for a quickie trip on Turkey day, returning on Monday. I'm so excited. I hear the wheels are hidden in the sleigh runners so it actually looks like a sleigh. I'm so excited about this. You can only do something once for the first time.
