Sleeps 7?

Hi Everyone

Im trying to plan our trip for next year. There are 7 of us in my family. DH,4 DD, Ds myself.
I see a few hotels that sleep 6, I know I can do two rooms and try to get joining. But idealy I would rather have us all in one place. Im wondering if there is a hotle to accomodate this size. Staying on site would be fantastic but I realize that might not be availible either.

DVC resorts have two bedroom villas that sleep 8 persons. There will be a king sized bed in one bedroom. Two queen sized beds or a queen sized bed and a double sleeper sofa in the other bedroom. Then there is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room.

You can go to the DVC section of these boards and rent points from a member. It's less expensive than paying cash. Other than that, you will find many places off-site through places like HotelKingdom that will sleep 8.

I think the cheapest on-site would be two connecting rooms at a value. Two bathrooms, too. I know when there's children, Disney makes an effort to get connecting rooms to those that need them.

I would get two connecting rooms at a mod or value. Then you will have two bathrooms, tvs, etc...It will be much less expensive than getting a two bedroom DVC and nobody will get stuck on a sleeper sofa.

The two bedroom at DVC would have two bathrooms and three tvs. It would also have a full kitchen. You could have breakfast and dinner in the room and only have to pay for lunch in the parks. That would save a lot of money with a family of seven.

If one of your kids is under 3, you can get a cabin (that's what we did last year). They hold up to 6 adults plus one child under 3 in a crib (pack n play provided) and have 2 dbl beds and a set of bunks. Only one bathroom though.

If you get connecting rooms they HAVE to guarentee you connecting rooms when your party includes small children. Just let them know. They will note it on your res. Then you would have 2 bathrooms.

We loved the cabins, sad we have outgrown them now. But, two connecting rooms at a Value are cheaper!

I would look offsite - I know onsite is wonderful and magical but for a party of 7 you will get much bigger and more comfortable accomodation for your money.

Yes, DVC would be fab, but someone has to sleep on a sofa bed and they cost a fortune - lets be realistic about that, it's not a cheap option, even if you are renting.

We have stayed both on and off, and while I do LOVE it onsite, in your circumstances I think it would be silly not to look at what is available just offsite (and we are talking 5 minutes away from property)

Look at Cypress Pointe for example - these are about 5 minutes from Downtown Disney and you can often find them on Hotel Kingdom very reasonably.

We also will have a party of 7 this summer. I joined SkyAuction and am planning to bid for a week at a timeshare(not to do the tour) because we would have a kitchen and living room and laundry. I will miss on-site but really want to have some room to spread out.

Thankyou all for the suggestions. I also think the mod or val with connecting rooms would fit our budget best, leaving more money to have fun with. Im wondering when you say connecting... do you mean there is a door in the middle that opens to allow access to both rooms? Or just two rooms next to each other?

I hadnt thought of the TV thing, or the bathrooms either. You all bring up great points.

Yes, connecting means a door inbetween. Since there will be minors only in one of the rooms, you should be able to get connecting rooms guaranteed, too. My children are older, but we've got them both times we've requested, too.

Adjoining is two rooms next to each other and connecting is with the door between the rooms. So far I haven't had a problem getting connecting rooms for my family and usually end up in a room with the connecting door even when we are not using that connecting room. I think that Tyler, the Pop Century guru, said that half of the Pop Century rooms are connecting.

Out of 4 trips that we asked for connecting, only 1 time did we not get our request. That time we were allowed to move after the weekend. Just be aware that even though they really try you will not always get your request. I really wanted connecting as my son was sleeping in the second room with my parents and so we did move when the room became available but it would not be my first choice to move mid week. That is one of the reasons we are going to try a condo this trip.

i think 2 rooms at a value would be great for you all. that way anytime you need to maybe go back to the room, you can just hop the bus. this past summer we went with my dd15 and 2 of her friends. we asked for connecting rooms and every thing worked out great . just try to remind them to put it on your res. papers, also when you get there. They are really usually good at accom. , esp. since you have little ones. That way like every one said , 2 tv, 2 bathrooms. Oh yeah we love the Movies. The food court is great, it has anything you could want. Hope you all have a great time..........

Renting points can be a very viablae option especially if you are renting Su through Th. We are renters and have found many people who are thrilled with the location, amenities and price.

I would just have to say that if you do the value connecting I would get sports unless you despise the theme. Reasone being in the off season the three resorts share a bus and sports gets picked up first greatly reducing the chance of standing. Movies gets picked up last.
