Sleepover ideas for 9 year old girls?????

Oh, I totally understand limiting the number of kids. I wasn't even mad that they didn't invite her. I was mad that their little game rubbed her nose in it. And that the mom was clueless that bringing members of the party over to our house might hurt my DD's feelings. So, I would recommend that if the DD has friends on the street who are not invited to the party that they skip the scavenger hunt.

BTW, I am writing down all these ideas! We're having a beach party for my DD's 9th birthday. As long as her BFF gets over the idea of dead fish in the lake, LOL!
I get what you are saying and no way would I have let the girls go near someones house who had not been asked to attend. I try and remind DD to be kind and keep her mouth shut.

I remember when I was about that age, I went to a slumber party at a girl named Valerie's house. Her mom, sent an envelope to each girl attending. The envelopes contained fake movie tickets and a bunch of fake money. When we showed up, just inside the door her mom had set up a ticket window where we turned in our tickets. Then she had also set up a candy counter on the kitchen island with a bunch of candies and popcorns etc. We used our fake money to buy all the snacks we wanted, then she had tied some curtains around the tv which she pulled back when it was movie time. She gave us an intermission during the movie when we could go buy more snacks and drinks. Then when it was over we held a little fake oscar party giving out awards for our favorite things in the movie like favorite actors, favorite costumes, etc etc.

I am now 29 years old and I still remember that party like it was yesterday. Someday when I have kids of my own, I hope to do something similar. It was truly magical.

The little girl 2 doors down had a Scavenger Hunt for her 9th birthday. The girls ran up and down the street knocking on doors to try to find the items on the hunt. My (then 7-year old) DD opened the door to a bunch of them. She had not been invited to her friend's birthday party. After a found a paper clip to give to them I had to go upstairs and comfort my sobbing daughter.

A scavenger hunt where you go knocking door to door?

I'm sorry for your daughter. I hope she recovered!! ;)

A scavenger hunt where you go knocking door to door?

We did scavenger hunts for years with DS's Halloween Party. We always had enough adults to send with each group of kids and they went door to door. We gave each group a map of their "territory" along with a time limit and a couple of rules of courtesy. The kids loved it and our neighbors were always ready to help out with some unusual item.
