sleeping on the chip

no problems sleeping because we are always tired from doing all of the fun stuff all day and half the night ;)

DD the CM says that she always sets an alarm clock ANY time she gets in he bunk since the motion of the ship is so relaxing that it's really easy to fall asleep and miss her shift.

I imagine that all the activities the guest do will have the same effect. I have seen posts to bring clothes pins to close the drapes securely if you have small children and and outside cabin to encourage napping.

I have a hard time sleeping at home but on the ship it was a piece of cake. We sailed the "rough" week on the Magic and the rocking was so comforting. We had an outside room so the sun woke us up early. Woke up so refreshed and ready for another day. Last week was like PP depression! Sleep tight!

I'm exhausted when I go to bed but then doze lightly rather than sleep. The night I slept best was the night it was rough - like being rocked to sleep. First cruise, I actually got my best sleep in the rainforest, during the day!

Ditto. I wanted to keep a journal of our trip so each night I took time to write about the day. I could hardly keep my eyes open after about 5 min.

IF you are the type to enjoy the day to its fullest you'll be beat at the end.

After a day in the sun, a great dinner, lots of fun activites throughout the day AND night, SLEEP was NEVER a problem. Waking up the next AM is the problem - there was always something going on that we wanted to do.

I agree, the motion of the ship does rock you to sleep. It's quite nice!

Oh geesh, I'm in the minority. I didn't sleep well at all except for the last night. I heard every creek and groan of the ship.

Of course, I never sleep well away from home and the ship didn't rock at all except a bit crossing the gulf stream on the way out.

Hey! Maybe that's why I slept on the last night!

I too LOVE the rocking motion!
I also bring a white noise machine to drown out hubby's snoring. It's good if you're in a noisy area, too, but that's rarely the case for me because I'm usually in 5650, which is as far aft as you can get and VERY quiet. I sleep like a log and pre-order room service to act as my alarm clock in the morning.

I LOVE sleeping on the ship! Very comforting to me!
I grew up on a reformed Coast Guard Cruiser, so it is HOME for me!

My husband does not have sea legs and tends to get seasick very easily. He did just GREAT!

I could not sleep well the last night of our cruise. There were several factors though.

1. Teens all decided to pull an all nighter out on deck. I can never sleep when they are out.

2. Closet door was missing velcro to keep it closed and every time the ship rocked it opened and the light came on and it banged.

3. Was rather hot in our stateroom. Friend "fixed" the thermostat after 2 calls to maintainence did not. He pulled the cover off and that made the air go on. Trouble is, the steward kept putting the cover back on.

4. the ship was creaky and groany as we hauled butt to get home

I took a dramamine which was a mistake cuz I was draggin the next day at Magic Kingdom.
